We're the same way. It sucks seeing so many dumpster fire programs around us and not being able to talk shite because we, too, are a dumpster fire.

Much like his distant cousin Jim back in the 1970's, we all drank the kool-aid and bought into the hype.
Only, unlike Jonestown, Butch's kool-aid wasn't potent and after a blurry haze of rainbows, beating Florida in our dreams and the "best staff in the country" ... the word "analytics" broke the spell and we are now experiencing a hangover the likes that only a 24-pack of Milwaukee's Best Light Ice could give you.
Does that make any sense?

Is it the recruiting classes?
Simple...they went to a bowl game after beating Vandy, USC and UK. I think it was the Big Top Circus Clown Bowl. It made them feel important and the media jumped on it. I even read on this board some UT poster (should have saved it) talk about the Playoffs ....WTF? The recruiting only fed the fire. Butchy got scared just weeks before season opener and then started making excuses cause he knew what was coming. And Hillbillies are dumb by nature.
