It's standard Texas to make excuses weeks before a looming loss

Pards you need to separate penalties called versus penalties committed. When Alabama holds on every play and it's only call 10-15 times they're going to win

This stupid phrase needs to go away. No one in the SEC thinks your state is anything special. And also f you for making me come to a thread and support Alabama.

And what, exactly, is going to happen when (not if) they screw it up? Nothing - that's what. You'll bitch about it to no end & we'll tell you to STFU. Be a better team that doesn't rely on officiating. Or, just stay in the Big 12.

Prepare to get called for holding when there was none.
They probably won’t turn your locker room AC off.

Like the holding they didn't call against tu in the Kansas game in 04? Or the mysterious unsportsmanlike conduct against A&M in 11 to keep the game winning drive? And that one was called by a tu grad.

There are a bunch of those calls through the years in the Big XII. ISU and Oklahoma State literally had fumble calls go against them that would have been game ending wins for them. Of course, Texas has their own calls to whine and cry about. Usually some random thing that happened in the middle of a game. Not a back breaker at the end of a game.

It will be interesting to see how Texas does in a league in which the bulk of the officials aren't from Texas.

For a while in the Big XII we had guys heading crews that were Texas grads who lived in Austin calling Texas games routinely.

I'll be glad to go to SEC officiating for that reason alone. It was always frustrating to get a ridiculous call go against you by a Texas based official... realizing that if he made that same call against the Texas based team he would likely have his house torched or something.

I don't mind having homer officials on occasion but in the Big XII it was routine.

What conference officiated the game in Texas last year? You sure Big 12 isn't officiating this one?

Good luck with that, but playing at Auburn is worse.

Nope. The shorthorns had a home-field advantage and they had a Big 12 officiating crew.
