What the frick is this shite?!? Who picked us 9th?
Posted on 6/1/14 at 2:31 pm to ConwayGamecock
Why would my jimmies be rustled? For one, I was simply providing a correction as to who actually submits the votes for these things. And, for two, if Carolina can't make it to the SECCG with 11 wins the past two seasons then why should I be worried that they can do so without Shaw, Ellington, Clowney, Hampton, and Quarles?

Such weird thinking The past year all we've heard about is how lazy Clowney is and how he barely played a down last year and now that he's gone "OMG ya'll are gonna suck!".
fricking rantlogic.

Who has made 5 SECCG appearances, two of which have come since Carolina's last and only appearance.
As for Rant logic, I personally never dogged on Clowney for being lazy. Plus, any plays off that Clowney took still managed to impact the gameplan. And you also neglected to address how Carolina is going to make up for the other four guys I mentioned that you're losing.

Why should I address it? It's a principle that applies to every team. With each year you lose players. Did nobody leave Georgia this season?

Relative to what Carolina lost, no. We of course lost Murray, but otherwise won't take a step down in many other areas (maybe Left Guard, but given how inconsistent the OL has played the past couple of seasons I don't think it matters). UGA should improve in most every area of the game with new coaching staff and recruiting class coming in (not to mention guys getting healthy and more experienced from last year's freshmen-laden team).

So a Bama site picked Bama?
Be funny to see the excuse list when it doesn't happen..

Thompson will replace Shaw and while there will be some dropoff, he's a 5th year senior under Spurrier that has started and played well before.
Bruce will be missed just as much as Ace was before him and Alshon two years ago. Roland, Byrd, Jones, and TE Adams or Anderson will make for a productive receiving corp.
DLine is worrisome as is the secondary but we've had to deal with replacing entire units before such as prior to last year we lost our entire 2-deep at LB. We return everyone there. We're at the point that we don't rebuild, we reload. Not quite to the level of Alabama, LSU, or Georgia even but we've got talent waiting to prove themselves.

Logical picks imo.
In the west, AU will probably have the best team with lsu and bama about even. However, when you account for Bamas annual weakest schedule in the west, bama has the easiest path to Atl same as always.
In the east usc and Uga are about a tossup and both have to play AU. Spurrier is a better coach than ritch, so they get the nod in the east.

$10 says one of the two first place Auburn votes is Kevin ScAUbinsky.

Doesn't sound that unreasonable to me. I think USCe is the team to beat coming out of the East. Mizzou could put up a fight as well. Maybe Georgia.
Not really seeing who else would come out on top. UK, UTk, and Vandy aren't going to do it. I have no confidence in Florida right now.
For the West, it is between Alabama, LSU, and Auburn. Alabama and LSU reload, but start new QBs. Auburn lost GRob and Mason, but return Marshall at QB.
I think this will be a very interesting season in the SEC and I don't know how it will shake out. Should be a fun year for football.
