I think the SEC wanted to protect UGA from a certain loss to OU so they offered A&M to get the win for the Conference.

We'll do our part.

Just Kidding UGA should beat the cob off the Huskers. Hell, 6-6 Wisky up 70 on them. Something has gotta be wrong with that.

Also, tired of hearing UGA whine about, "but we played Bama close". A&M beat Bama, LSU held the lead on Bama with 55 seconds left. Quit looking for a moral victory, you lost. Just be thankful for the unequal schedule that put you in Atlanta. If you swapped Florida and UGA's schedules, UF is in Atlanta.

Ignorance on display for all to see!

Polls are what screwed UGA out of a BCS bowl.

The two team limit is a fixed factor, not a reason.

Pollsters decided that Florida should jump #3 UGA even though UGA beat Florida. Because Florida was in the top 4 at that point, BCS rules say they are guaranteed a spot.

That's all there is to it.

You won't find too many UGA fans talking about it though. Win your games. Should be going to NC. Didn't win. Going to Sugar wouldn't make any of us feel any better about it. Especially if we had to close out the season with Kent fricking State.

At least Nebraska gives us a modicum of a chance to close out the season on a high note against a reasonably decent team, relative to Kent State anyways.

Don't let him get you fired up. Dude shows up in practically every UGA thread crying about our schedule.

Although there have been inconsistencies, LSU fans need to get over 2005. The two arguments are not the same. You got blown the hell out by a team that was ranked #13 in the sec championship. As the number three team we played number two to the wire. You can throw out moral victory all you want but we earned the bowl we received.

If the SEC is going to insist that the loser of the SEC championship goes to the Cap1 bowl, they need to do it every year.

LSU definitely should have been in the Cap1 bowl in 2005. We only had 2 losses, and because of the hurricane, we went the whole season without a bye week.

ETA: I already said on page 1 I have no problem with UGA being in the Cap1 bowl, but I'd just like to see some consistency.

A lot of you folks are acting like this had something to do with fairness when it is all about money and publicity. The SEC wants the best matchups based on the overall conference exposure. It also managed to get every SEC team in a game where they are favored. Some of that means putting schools that are stronger in weaker bowls. Some of that means putting schools that are weaker in stronger bowls when the matchup and pub makes sense.

It's also hilarious to hear the LSU folks whine about the SEC office. You folks sound like spoiled children. I think it would benefit all SEC schools to spend a couple years in one of the clusters that most other conferences are to get a real idea of just how good you have it. You are making a gazillion dollars. You have 2 crystal footballs in the last decade. Your brand is stronger than ever. Obviously LSU as a school deserves most of the credit for that but the SEC has also help set the table for that success.

I understand what you are saying but do not necessarily agree. Not all teams that lose the sec championship are the same. We sure as hell didn't deserve the capital one bowl last year. There needs to be a stipulation like if the sec championship loser was in the top ten before the game they automatically qualify. 05 LSU deserved it being number 3.

12 so we wouldn't get the automatic spot in my scenario.

LSU fans will quit whining bout the league's office being in B.ham as soon as you aggies quit crying bout UT. .......but, seriously, this is an LSU based website & the majority of ranters are LSU fans, MANY college aged students. So it's only natural that you're going to get more of the LSU fans' opinions & reactions. Go to any other team's websites & you get a lot of the same bitching. About everything. The league's AD's used to take a poll, of all the alumni chapters based in B.ham, each his own school's opinions, and it was always a slam dunk: get us (SEC office) the hell out of B.ham. Live it day to day & it's a lot worse than ranters here could ever make it out to be. A friend was the LSU chapter president there for 17 yrs & he can tell you horror stories bout the blantant bias. You figure most of the employees there who are bama alums grew up in the Bear's glory days, and that type of fanaticism doesn't just fade away. It is what it is but it still pisses you off. Much like you aggies had to accept UT's domination when it came to conference issues. It chased Neb. out of the league & now, you as well.

I think it's a fair maneuver.

That said, it still blows my mind that the pecking order puts the "CapitalOne" bowl over something as storied and awesome as the Cotton Bowl. So in this case, I think it really works out for everyone.
