If the SEC does a clean sweep on rivalry week...nobody will give a frick what happened in Aug/Sept.

That may be right, but the computers will. Also, a rivalry week sweep of the ACC won't matter as much to voters if the SEC champion is battling a Big Ten, Pac 12 or Big XII champion with the same number of losses, or Louisville with fewer.

And even in the best scenario (i.e., where a rivalry week sweep does make a big difference), look what we are having to depend on...a clean sweep by South Carolina over Clemson, Georgia over Georgia Tech and Florida over Florida State. Doable, but hardly a given.

That is not the stuff that will get a one-loss SEC champion into the NC game over an undefeated Louisville, and maybe even a one-loss Clemson or FSU.

And you were going so well.

SEC domination has only meant the SEC team got preference over another conference when their records were the same. You're not gonna see a 1 loss SEC team over an undefeated other BCS school, maaaybe 1 loss bama invited over an undefeated louisville, but I doubt it.

Until the the best team in the SEC goes to the championship and loses the game to a non SEC none of these losses will amount to a change of perception. LSU and Florida lost big time bowl games last year and the SEC covered the preseason top 15 more than ever this year. B12 sent 90% of its teams to bowl games and nobody cares because OU and K-state got creamed in the only games that really mattered.

I didn't care what outsiders thought before and I sure as hell don't care now. The SEC is still the best athletic conference in the nation and that ain't gonna ever change, IMO.

SEC = Cannon's punt return, Run Lindsey Run, Blue Grass Miracle, Punt Bama Punt, Miracle on Markham I & II, The Earthquake Game, Hershel and Bo, Three Mannings, DMAC & Felix, The Bear, The Ole Ball Coach, The Grove, Tween the Hedges, Rocky Top, and the finest women in all of CFB.
No other conference can compare.
