Virgina Tech's Logan Thomas leads his team to an undefeated season and plays Ole Miss in the CBS national championship at the Rose Bush

Ok im done with my unfunny jokes,
I honestly believe that if Texas and a Pac team goes undefeated along with Alabama, there will not be an SEC team in the MNC.

Well, Bama being preseason #1 by everyone would take some real magic to be excluded over those two(s).

They are the two time defending national champions, playing in what both the computers and media think is the toughest conference, and are preseason no.1. There is no way they get jumped if they win out.

Lets just say Oklahoma is again a top 15 team, k state, ok state, tcu, wvu, and baylor have good seasons.
Stanford or oregon go undefeated with wins over a good usc, nd, ucla, arizona, az st. Oregon state. The SOS this year could really hurt bama this year i think. Maybe s.car, georgia lose one or two (clemson) could beat both. And its a close game with one against bama in sec champ. Lets just say.

If you are referring to Oregon, no chance. If you are referring to Ohio State, still no chance.

Only Louisville's schedule is bad enough for this to happen.

Call me in January if you (you, Oregon, pac team, duckies) pass a once beaten SECCG winner.

the computer formula just does not work for that. The schedule has to be abysmally bad - we are talking Boise State, Utah, Houston, etc. for a 1-loss SEC team to be ahead of a major conference team. In the past few years when Alabama lost a game, they needed the undefeated major conference teams ahead of them to lose to have a chance to jump them in the computers and the human polls. It is mathematically impossible for a 1loss SEC team to be ahead of an undefeated PAC 12 team.

ETA - my bad on the double post. Also to be clear, you are stating that a 12-1 SEC champ would be ahead of a 13-0 Oregon correct? Also meant to be a response to nc14.

BCS national title game: Stanford vs South Carolina
Sugar Bowl : Bama vs Boise State
Orange Bowl : Florida State vs Notre Dame
Rose: Oregon vs Ohio state
Fiesta Bowl - Texas vs Louisville

Teams will get fricked from the SEC of course.

Stanford is number 1. Roses loses them and takes Oregon.
USCe finishes number 2. Sugar takes Bama
Orange takes first selection in ND to face ACC champ FSU
Sugar takes second selection in Boise State to face their picked team Bama
Rose Big ten champ OSU faces selected Oregon.

You are aware the the computers go by the teams you play and all the teams in your conference, right? Saying ole miss and auburn have pretty good years but none have more than 8 wins, neither am or lsu beats bama but plays close and both have two maybe threethree losses, and land outside of top 10. Sec east opponent (say georgia) loses to florida and clemson and is outside of top 10 plays bama close. With tougher schedules and a good championship game, with style points and coaches picking texas and oregon, if they are the better team. Bama will not be there.

I just cannot fathom the human polls picking Texas and Oregon over Bama if all three teams have the same record. I mean perhaps if Bama really looks awful this year and manages to squeeze out several victories while Texas and Oregon win in commanding fashion, and the SEC sucks in non conference play (Florida loses to FSU and Miami, SCarolina loses to Clemson, Georgia loses to Clemson, LSU loses to TCU) then maaaaaybe the perception will be that the SEC is a shitty conference. But I have a better chance of walking on to a collegiate team than this happening. And I have no eligibility left.

ETA - In this fantasy scenario, Clemson would be the best team in the country.

And yes, Im aware that the computers go by the teams you play, not the conference you in. Are the two different? I dont really think so because the teams you play are rated by the success against the teams they played. So Florida losing their OOC games would negatively impact LSU's SOS and computer ranking because Florida will be ranked lower, and that would in turn impact Alabama's SOS.

How many times in this thread have i said with scar and georgia losing to clemson, i think tcu will play us close but we win, florida loses to fsu. With oregon not missing a beat in the way they win and big 12 being the big 12 again bc of emergence of baylor, ok state k state tcu and wvu.

Clemson beat lsu.. With probably the beat offense in the nation and the best defense they have had in 20 years. So yes, fantasy scenario..

Fair enough. I just do not think there is any chance that the SEC will do that badly in OOC and be the third best conference. It is a huuuuuuuge stretch.

Why would it be assumed we lose to FSU matty?

The fact that we return more starters?
We return our whole staff basically, and they have a completely new one?
We beat them down in their house, and we are expected to be better, and them worse. Don't understand why we are assuming we can't beat a team we beat down last year when we have more returning and a better staff.
