You guys do realize his attorney does more than just criminal don't you?

These theories are getting pretty out there

Pretty high-priced attorney to retain if you don't think you're in any trouble.

This speculation really isn't all that ridiculous either.

The UAAA can also be used for this which would bring criminal charges in for them. No matter what the NCAA does GA can prosecute if they believe they enticed Gurley and gave him money. Why I could see the lawyers coming in because they may try and make a deal. Under the UAAA GA can go after phone records, emails, and what not. NC is doing it right now for what happened at UNC, even using it to go after the tutor. AL is possibly following suit for the same type of issues. 43 states including GA have signed on to implement this act and now it seems it is being used.

He is a good lawyer, but this speculation is based on the theory that his is strictly a criminal attorney, which he isn't, and this theory/speculation is getting to an ATPB level.

Second person in the car with Gurley lawyers up Wow, I didn't know that Todd Gurley was Soooo naïve and vulnerable. But you guys want Jameis shot for the same offense. Maybe not you personally, but the radio in ATL sounds like an episode of Oprah! With all the victimization, and crying about fairness... You do realize that Gurley was paid and Cam wasn't don't you?

Wait, where did you read any of this on this thread?

I've seen rumors about Amari Cooper and Nkimdeche. I have no idea who put the rumors out or how credible they are. I would think not very credible, or it would have been more public....just a guess.

Not even close, unless you're reading too much into these comments looking at the possibility of legal action and what it could be based on.

That is correct. In Georgia's statute, it is not a criminal offense, although they have expressed that they are exploring the possibility. That does still leave the possibility for criminal charges.

At the end of the day, no one wants this going any further, as there are no winners if it does. UGA, Gurley, the NCAA, and the individuals would all suffer if it were pursued further. Hopefully, these guys will now understand that they will be liable in the future to quit pulling this crap on these guys. Unfortunately, these guys are easily enticed by a little money in college, not saying it's right, it's just the reality. Make no mistake, Gurley knew what he was doing was against the rules. UGA is very emphatic about letting the players know this, but he chose to do it anyway.

Other memorabilia dealers have come out and said UGA players are very difficult to get autographs from since the AJ Green situation, but it only takes one.

Not really. But most want the same type of disciplinary action. While Georgia suspended Gurley immediately, FSU seems intent on covering up everything for Winston.

From his website:

EDWARD T. M. GARLAND ESQ.

Edward T. M. Garland Esq. practicing in personal injury and criminal defense.

From Superlawyers website:

Practice Areas: Criminal Defense: White Collar (50%), Personal Injury - General: Plaintiff (30%), Personal Injury - Products: Plaintiff (20%)

On his website, he lists his specialties as personal injury and criminal defense.

On superlawyers website, it states that 50% of his cases are criminal defense. 30% personal injury general, and 20% personal injury products.

Based on this information, 2+2=4. Considering this case breakdown, I would say this would be more for criminal defense. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

It's not a stretch to think that he was hired for criminal defense.

Wouldn't respond to that guy. He is a troll, nothing more. Not worth the time.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

That's kind of instructive. Everyone is cya.

Uga suspends Gurley to protect uga while they figure things out. Basically uga has nothing to hide.

Fsu is desperately protecting Winston. They can't toss him under a bus probably because they have something to hide and it will cost them if it's fully uncovered.

I think FSU is an old school athletic department. Uga is not.

I scanned through the first couple pages of resposes so this may have been stated.

But I have no idea why these guys didn't lawyer up sooner. Not because black helicopters and shite, just because if you are in any way, shape, or form a potential suspect in any type of case it's pretty dumb not to get a lawyer. Alignment of incentives, police and attorneys incentives are to prosecute and convict all involved for specific crimes. If your a potential suspect, this may not align with your fricking incentives. I hate law, thoroughly, but the second I'm being interrogated I will shut the frick up until I consent somebody that knows what they're doing.

ETA: This doesn't change if you know you're innocent or guilty.

How they continue to cover for Winston is amazing. Before it's all said and done, Winston, and FSU's handling of him, will be a cautionary tale. He may single-handedly bring down the program if they continue to enable him and cover up all his antics. It is a sad reflection on what college football has become.

I agree. I think fsu picked the wrong time in football history to go old school. Supposedly from one article there is one side of the school trying to do this right and then there's the athletic department.

I go down there a lot. Stay on Tennessee Avenue or Street or whatever that busy road is. I didn't know there was another side other than the athletic department. Learn something new.

I did think it was funny when after the Gurley suspension they said the only player with more stuff on eBay was Winston. I was wondering why he wasn't in trouble too.

Didn't take long for others to look. A dirty smart school would be wise to buy up all the outstanding memorabilia of their guys before they just start going down the list.
