2. The biggest difference between the Alabama of last year and this year is not the seven new defensive starters. It's the schedule.

What is the schedule difference?

Idk, but I do know they avoid the 3 toughest teams from the east. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.

Not so much:
1. Mathieu made a lot of big plays for LSU. I seriously doubt that LSU fans have forgotten.
2. SEC West schedule is rough regardless of your OOC opponents.
3. Again, I don't think Hog fans have forgotten what Petrino did for their program. Hard to replace one of the best offensive minds in football.
4. Maybe but I'm pretty sure they remember that the SEC has dominated the BCS championship and they see the recruiting rankings of the better SEC teams.
5. Murray is important to UGA no doubt, but I would say that both Wilson and Bray are more important to their respective teams.

HE basically cited the qbs they face on the road, which is a good point.

Bama could beat them all but they(road qbs) will be better than what they faced last year on the road.

I think the rest of the SEC is going to be surprised by the new guys intensity and how they aren't really surprised by the intensity of the rest of the league. We have played the majority of the SEC at some point. You really aren't that special.

That intensity of playing in a new league will diminish when people start hitting. The "omg we're SEC" hype surrounding games will be strong, but all that goes out the window after kickoff.

And how exactly have you done? I recall one of our worst teams recently who lost 5 games pummeling yall in a bowl game 3 years ago.

Not all in the same season. It's not that Mizzou or aTm can't play (and beat) SEC teams - it's the gauntlet - week after week - injury after injury.

I agree 100%. SEC DLs are mean and nasty.

Just wait til you have to face these SEC boys every single week. By the time y'all get to the SamHouston State game you will be beat up and bruised to a freaking pulp.

The SEC grind is why Bobby Bowden picked the ACC over the SEC when he decided to join a conference. Having mabe one difficult conference game a yr made it easy for him to save his starters from getting pounded for 4 quarters every wk. With scores like 45-43 wkend wk out, it seems like the Big 12 is a flag football league. Here, the 4th quarter is gut check time as you have been pounded on, non stop for the first 3 quarters & you have to have the depth & talent to survive.

Petrino's greatest strength was his attention to detail. But he was also VERY stubborn, controlling, and domineering from what I can surmise. I've seen him run Broderick Green up the middle for no gain more times than one could imagine, and I think his teams played so tight that it cost us games(Sugar Bowl,) and damned-near cost us games we should have won handily( TAMU, Vandy, Ole Miss last year.)

He is a great coach and will be missed for sure. But if we catch fire, I think we could win-out. If we stub our toes early though, I think we could easily lose 4 or even 5 games.

1. A lot of people are underestimating the impact that the loss of Tyrann Mathieu will have on LSU.

And even more people are underestimating what kind of talent and athleticism LSU has stockpiled in the secondary. We have a track record of turning 3 stars into 1st round picks.
