With a few weeks left until kickoff, let's look at schedules for the top five contenders in the SEC West:
Alabama - 4 away games (not including Florida State), at Vandy, A&M, Miss. St., & AU. Also has a week off before LSU. Has Mercer, CO State, and Fresno State out of conference.
Arkansas - 4 away games, with those being South Car., Bama, OM & LSU. Has out of conference schedule with Florida A&M, TCU, NM State, & Coastal. Early off week before Texas A&M home game.
Auburn - 5 road games (with Clemson) with Mizzou, and later 3 straight at LSU, Arky, and then a week off before A&M. Also has Mercer, GA Southern, and LA Monroe.
LSU - 5 road games with BYU at home. Road games at Miss. State, Florida, OM, Bama, and Tenn. Off week before Bama. Has Syracuse, Troy, and Chatt. on the schedule as well.
Texas A&M - 4 road games with UCLA, Florida, OM, and LSU (both to close out the season). Off week before Miss. State. Has Nicholls St., LA - Laf., and New Mex. as well.
- All have comparable patsies - with LSU having the toughest with Troy.
- Bama, Arky, & A&M have 4 away games, though Bama does have one on the road with a 50/50 split crowd. AU and LSU have 5 road games each.
- Bama and Auburn play at least one top 5 team with Florida State and Clemson (Bama, again, is a split crowd with AU's game on the road). The others play at least one top 25 (or worse) team in TCU, BYU, & UCLA.
Discuss.

No one in the West has an easy path to the Championship. Probably whoever plays the easiest teams from the East this year.

Its Bama, mainly because they don't have to play themselves. Bonus they get Vandy.

Bama. Also, it looks like Auburn and LSU have the hardest.

The A&M is only a home game in theory. Neutral site and the crowd should once again be pretty evenly split.
Getting Bama and LSU on the road is a tall order. The very early off week will hurt us down the road when the team begins to get worn down with injuries. We do get Coastal Carolina so with luck we will be able to rest our starters for most of the second half but one or two injuries against them would put us in dire straits going into the home stretch of the season.

There are only three contenders in the West and Alabama has the best schedule of the three.

Why the trick would anyone put Arkansas in a discussion about contenders?

BYU at home
This game is actually in Houston. I realize fan-wise it will seem like a home game, but there is travel involved and it is not in the familiarity of Tiger Stadium.

The schedule don't matter. The path to the SECCG starts and ends in Tuscaloosa. Suck on that.

This is a discussion message board. It's a good topic.

Without Bama the SEC would be irrelavent. You can complain all you want but you should be thanking us.

Of the three contenders,
LSU has the hardest because they play 2 big 6 East teams on the road.
Both Alabama and Auburn get their good East opponent at home and their bad East opponent away. I think AU has a slightly easier conference schedule because they get Bama at home.

They are on the road for LSU too. It's been a minute since they won in Baton Rouge.

Sheesh, there is always one kid here. Can you not have a decent conversation without the BS?

The SEC office is still in Bham so we already know the answer to this without looking at the schedule

Why do you LSU fans keep saying that shite as if it has any bearing on this season? That isn't how sports works, man. Auburn is going to SMASH LSU in Baton Rouge this year.

What bothers you is you know I'm right.
