Mett was good enough to beat the aggies last year. He will do it again, this time in death valley though. As it played out the loss to LSU probally kept a&m from playing for the big crystal egg.

If Jake Matthews returns, no way LSU's D, with what they lose, is stopping JFF.

Gonna go ahead and disagree here. We'll have fast DEs and LBs who can contain a running QB, unlike Bama.

I can finish that list of LSU's defensive players that had beacoup PT last year for you?

Guys like LB, Barrow that had more tackles for LSU except for anyone not named Minter. He had more tackles than anybody on the bama "D".

How bout these other LBs. T Jones (academic suspension did start the bowl game), L Louis and L Muncie, they all started games at LB last year. That doesn't include R Feist who also received valuble PT as a TFr.

You forgot Loston, Martin and Thompson at safety.

DE, Rasco, Macklin (redshirted in '12) saw PT in '11 and Allen (injured in '12) played in '11.

On top of all that LSU is probally bringing in as a whole the best defensive recruits (DL,LB and DBs combined) in the country with this '13 recruiting class. Way better than the tide anyway.

LSU has a DC that can figure out how to stop or at least slow down that type offense. Might give up a bunch of yards but Chavis knows how to keep them out the endzone.

I didn't forget Rasco, I forgot his name.

I thought he declared?

Martin

I did forget him, but I thought about him when I started the post.

None of them were very good though, but they do have experience.

I would too if my D was on the field for as many snaps as his was.

That's where you're confused. Y'know why we couldn't contain some of the runners we played? Because Dickson, Hubbard (who actually did a good job of it most of the year), Devall, Pagan, and Ivory were inexperienced at it. You can have fast DEs all ya want, if they haven't done it a lot before, they can't contain it.

I agree with your list in its entirety. I would be bullish on Texas A&M beating Bama head-to-head but they get a bye week to prepare for us.

Who fixes these damn schedules?

We were in y'alls shoes last year in one of these threads though, and LSU fans are pretty disappointed in the results this year. Who would've seen Auburn and Arkansas finishing last also? My list is probably the safest bet, but far from a done deal

Sure, but your rankings accurately reflect things as they currently stand. But it's long time from even National Signing Day.

Johnny Manziel changes the math on our expectations. In any given year, A&M would happily take a 10-3 record. But as long as JFF is under center, our expectations will be through the roof. I hate to say it, but Aggie fans might just be as insufferable as Bama fans come September.

There's a decent chance we return Joeckel and Matthews on our OL, which means 4 of 5 of our current OL starters would be back, and the only missing guy would be replaced by another Matthews spawn. If that happens, with our QB (Heisman), RBs (3 mega studs and a short yardage bruiser), WRs (3 over 6'5 230lbs), we are going to have a record setting offense. We will be able to outscore everyone as long as we limit TOs.

So, homer pick, but I'm gonna say:
A&M
Bama
LSU
Miss
Miss St
Arky
Auburn

I don't see how Auburn gets 17 points better than us

2010: AU 65, Arky 43 (43 point swing)
2011: Arky 38, AU 14 (46 point swing)

You still think 17 points from one year to the next is hard to find?

A&Ms entire team is JFF. we'll see how good they are with a new OC and losing two stud o-linemen.

they couldn't beat LSU in College Station with them...i doubt they can do it in Baton Rouge without them.

and LSU owns bama in Tuscaloosa.

therefore...the only logical conclusion is LSU wins the west. it's common sense people

What if they stay? Just because LSU juniors want to get the hell out of dodge doesn't mean our guys have to. Also we just kicked the shite out of OU without our OC so I think we will be just fine. In reality Texas Tech had to hate seeing us not miss a beat without KK.
