1973.... Alabama stomped California 66-0 in game two of the last ever Alabama-Auburn double-header at Legion Field after Auburn had defeated another Pac 8 team Oregon State 18-9.
Alabama had very unusal way to signal in plays that season starting with this game, game one of the season. Certainly unusual in that this was done for everyplay all season long.

hmmm. the score was 66-0. i bet the signal was if Bear was standing on the sideline, wearing a houndstooth hat, smoking a Chesterfield, the offense was to run the ball until they got to the endzone. for the defense, they were to tackle the California player w/ the ball. if the Bear took off his hat, they were to call a timeout to see what the Bear wanted them to do.
