SEC thoughts on Dalvin Cook
I like him; good combination of quickness, power, elusiveness and speed. He reminds me of Sony Michel. Cooks is 10 pounds lighter but a bit more speed. Both can make you miss in the hole for unexpected yardage.

Very good player, ought to be at the top of most Heisman lists next year, even with injury he was still impressive. Whereas Henry and Fournette are built more for power running, Cook and McCaffrey can get in space and make plays in passing game. Fournette can too if he had a QB to work with.
Ought to be a good race next year with Mayfield, Fournette, Cook and McCaffrey all returning.

I am an LSU fan and I think he is the best RB in the country right now. Got a chance to watch a ton of FSU games last year and he was incredible as a freshman. Seemed like every carry went for 10 yards.
I would say he is the best RB in the country, with LF7 right behind him....... Then a large gap and there is a bunch of guys tied for 3rd, including Henry.

I'd put it as Henry #1
Cook #2
(GAP)
Fournette #3.
Even though FSU lost a couple of games, Cook was never really shut down. He averaged 4.8 ypc against Georgia Tech. In his most important game of the year against Clemson, he had 9.2 YPC in a loss. Henry also showed the same grit during the loss to OM.

Cook is really really talented
Wish he was a junior so OM wouldn't have to face him in Orlando next fall

Probably not, since he's a better back than Henry

Excellent back who plays on one of the most nauseating programs in the nation.

Cook reminds me of a faster version of Leveon Bell.
He will be a star in the NFL.

Here is an opinion that I know is shared with a lot of others if not on this low brow message board. On this board, you have rivalry denigration such that LSU fans and Ole Miss fans are not going to give any credit due to their rival's RB:
RE: Heisman and other awards, Cook is seen as a character problem in a program where character doesn't matter and in a time with his particular issue is at the forefront of everyone's mind. Yes, JW won it anyway, but it was because he clearly was the best player and was not indicted for rape.
As for who is better, it is subjective. But, I think most people think he runs against weak defenses. The ACC is a poor defensive conference and has been for quite some time. The game SEC fans are interested in are those that provide some comparison to good defenses, especially considering LF and DH play in the SEC and all 3 played Florida and gained about the same number of yards- which provides a direct comparison for the position of RB. The only comparable sample is Cook's game against Florida.
Here is where the story of the statistics help.
Against Florida, LF and DH gained their yards when the game was in doubt, when they needed to be their best, and when possessions were paramount, and first downs were needed.
Against Florida, Dalvin Cook gained 125 yards after the 7:38 mark in the 4th quarter. The game was already over. Florida had pulled many of their defensive starters who were nursing injuries and anticipating of having the game the following week. In fact, Cook gained 77 yards after the 3:26 mark left in the game. Cook was only in the game to gain statistics. The game was long settled and there was no threat of Florida being able to win that game. When in mattered, he was bottled-up except for 1 32 yard run.
So, as far as the SEC view is concerned, everyone thinks he is a good running back. But, few think he is better than LF or DH, because he really isn't. And, he didn't prove he was better in any way. And, there is no doubt that he played against worse defenses. The rest of the nation agrees with the SEC.
As for just yardage volume, DH did not play several quarters of his games. LF missed an entire game when their first game was cancelled and also several quarters of other games, and DC missed time due to injury.

I'm curious as to why some of the same people that say McCaffrey is overrated because Pac 10's defenses are bad also say Cook was basically snubbed of a Heisman invite. The ACC is a fricking joke

Would call him a very complete back, running and catching the ball. Have no issues with his game........
As for the Heisman, missed one whole game and played one series in another. Easy to say he would have went off in those, but the truth is, since he didn't play, no one will ever know.......even as likely as it probably was. Hard to put him in New York over the over three who played the entire season.
Also, wonder what impact the off the field stuff had on him as well........
