If you aren't a fan of SEC tennis, you can just move along.

I watched a couple of Ole Miss matches when they were at home but I never really followed them.

Is this where I say nobody cares about tennis and it's an afterthought?

How are the matches played?
I thought team tennis has six single matches and 3 doubles matches in a best of 9 meet.

The schools are seeded 1-13 for men and 1-14 for women.

DOUBLES
Each school has 3 teams of 2. Each team competes and the school that has 2 teams reach 8 first wins the doubles point.

SINGLES
6 singles events going on. Best of 3.

If team A wins the doubles point, they only have to win 3 of the 6 singles matches to advance.

If team B loses the doubles point, they have to win 4 of the 6 singles matches to advance.

In the end, the school that advances has to win 4 of the 7 possible points.

Thats slightly confusing at first glance.

Thanks for putting all of these non-mainstream SEC sports up. They are neat to look at.

sorry, 8 points.

15-0
30-0
40-0
Next win = 1 point

Reach this 8 times, and your team wins that game.

There's really no easy way to simply explain how the points work in tennis.
