I've never posted there. Can't speak to your question. Sounds like you do a lot though.

This list is tainted by the Sabanesque fear and weak fortitude of a particular West team who's permanent rival has been a stinkbomb the past decade. But ol Lil Nicky is scared to death to schedule Georgia, Florida, or USCE.

Dey gotta play Vandy, Kentucky, and Miss Piggy's School for the Blind, Deaf, & Dumb.

LSU aint skeered to play anybody anywhere anytime. When you do that, you will inevitably get beat from time to time

Florida and Auburn have played the top three the most from the other division. And I am not even looking it up so call me on it if you think I am wrong.

Didn't look up Florida, but Auburn did. (Focused on the West since this has turned into LSU vs. Bama in the thread.)

But I do think this provides a more nuanced picture. LINK to fullscreen image

**I realize I posted this in the other thread that came from this one. However, I figured the numbers were worth posting twice.

Only 2 (2008 & 2012)

Until 2008, we hadn't lost to Vandy since 1955 (sigh)

Interesting how the top three in each division play each other every year, yet still have the best records.
The rest of yall must really suck.

I was about to say...considering their permanent opponents, I would say the most impressive are Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida.

SEC team records vs other division since the split
Interesting
West vs East
Bama 46-19-1
LSU 35-30-1
State 34-32
Ole Miss 32-34

Is this why Les is PO'd about cross-division games?

On a side note, 1 win more than MSU & 3 more than Miss.?

Might as well save your time trying to reason with these LSU pussies who are afraid of competition. I'm glad teams like UT and Arky aren't afraid, even when the chips are down.

OK so let's swap UT with UF since y'all are on the upswing. I just don't like Gainesville, it would be nice to rotate the teams like every other conference does.

Again give me UGA then instead of UF, I'd rather travel to Athens every other year.

Two reasons for our pitiful record:

1. We've played Vandy and Kentucky less then everyone else, not including Missouri. We also seem to get rotating opponents at their best. This is why our SOS is always so high (if you think it's because we suck, then you should look at the numbers closer, because the proof is in there.)

2. Coach Nutt didn't consider any rotating opponents real. Under Nutt, we played well against SC and UT while playing them every year, but he struggled to beat ANY other SEC-E team, just as he did in bowl games against teams that weren't Texas. He couldn't coach against opponents that weren't regulars on the schedule, unless it was an emotional rival like Texas.

We were 3-12 against rotating opponents under Nutt and 1-6 in bowl games that weren't against Texas, including a loss to UNLV. The only win was against Mizzou.
