I would give the edge to Florida in the 2000's debate because both of LSU's titles (while legitimate) are questioned by some......2003 was split with USC and 2007 was a 2 loss team. Also both were won in New Orleans.

Both are very worthy, but UF gets the edge.

Florida has a losing bowl record in the 2000's

Florida had THREE 5 loss seasons in a row in the 2000's.

LSU would be the team of the decade from 2000-2010

However, many others feel USC was the better team in 2003, including the majority of AP voters

You mean the AP voters based out of Los angeles?

Well, that's a surprise that they would pick USC

LSU was the best team in the nation in both 2003 and 2007

Just leave it at that. No need to add those other details.

Florida went 5-5 in bowl games, the 2000 Citrus Bowl was for the 1999 season.

I think it is pretty impressive that despite the Zook years, Florida still ended up with the most wins in the SEC for the decade and ended up becoming the first school to have 100 wins or more in 2 consecutive decades.

Probably too close to call on this one.

So did Florida. 6-4 head to head advantage to Florida. UF wins. Very close call.

Team of the decade, 2001 - 2010, is LSU
Team of the 1st ten seasons of the 2000's, 2000 - 2009, would probably be both LSU and Florida.

2010s - ???
2000s - Florida/LSU
1990s - Florida
1980s - Auburn
1970s - Alabama

After that who cares?

the first black player to play in the SEC was Nat Northington of Kentucky in 1967.

Its hard for me to care about football played by all white dudes.

Good arguments for both sides. I think the OP was right. LSU and Florida share the decade.

I would contend that the 80's should go to UGA as opposed to Auburn due to UGA winning a national title and that it was proven Auburn was doing some serious cheating under Pat Dye.
