Life was never easy for Derrick Thomas. At the age of 5, his father, an Air Force pilot, was lost in Vietnam during a flying mission. As an adolescent growing up in a rough Miami neighborhood, Thomas ran afoul of the law and found himself in front of a judge who would give him a second chance. He turned his life around, became a star on the gridiron and attracted the attention of the University of Alabama, where he established himself as arguably the greatest pass rusher in college football history. He went on to an outstanding career as a linebacker with the Kansas City Chiefs, and in 1993, he was named the NFL’s Man of the Year for his charitable contributions to the community. But at the age of 33, he was paralyzed in a car accident and died shortly thereafter, leaving behind a towering legacy that would put him in both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. He also had a son he never knew, Matt Naylor, who narrates this moving testament of discovery.

These shows are put together very good, as much as you follow your team there will always be something in the show you had no clue about.
LSU never got to know Bo Rein but that show was really good.

I can't wait. DT was my all-time favorite NFL player!

I can't wait to watch this. Thomas was a monster back in the day.

I'm looking forward to watching it. As a relatively young Alabama fan and graduate, there is still a lot I don't know historically.
It also really sucks that this guys mom never told DT he had a child.

He was a hell of a FB player but as a person.....Number of kids 7 Number of baby mamas: 5.
At one time he had two different women having babies at the same time on two different floors of the same hospital....classic...

Chipper Jones and Antonio Cromartie have a lot of bastard children too.
If I made millions of dollars per year there is no telling how many little rises would be running around. I'd have a herd of them.

How in the hell do you get 27 sacks in a year in that era of football? Unfricking believable
