Yes but "best city" doesn't contribute to GDP.

I'm my defense I don't give a thought to 3 of those on your list.

don't kid yourself
tourism dollars are critical for states like Tennessee & Louisiana (Nashville & NOLA are huge tourist destinations)
"best city" = "best city to visit" = big part of GDP

It does when a frickton of rich people live there, and Nashville is a major money producer.

the map does seem to indicate that, as LA is a little darker blue, but I did say in OP that I listed the states by # of electoral votes & population

Tourism does play a part but the biggest drivers of GDP is industry. It's the Boeings and Pfizers of the world that are doing the heavy lifting.

I glanced over that part, just went via numbers
I had to do a senior project on that a while back so it's dear to my heart.

France GDP 2,464.790 (billions)
Canada GDP 1,462.330
Australia GDP 1,200.780
Russia GDP 1,132.740
France has the 6th highest GDP in the World. Canada is 10th
In other words California and Texas are bigger economic powerhouses than Australia or Russia.

Lol
Nashville is peanuts in terms of money when compared to other major cities.
I swear this board props Nashville up way too much
