Shy Tuttle is going through his first spring so I don't know if he counts but he has made noise every day on the practice field and improved everyday. His also received a lot of praise.

Josh Dobbs
- this Spring has see a lot of improvement in his consistency throwing the ball. He's excelling as the team's unquestioned leader. Coach DeBo has helped all the QBs improve.

There are others but those two come to mind at once. Shy has been a big surprise and what conditioning problems he had earlier he just gets better at every day.

There has been some buzz about Kendal Vickers at DT as well.

Tim Williams, OLB
hes going to be a badass this year. lupoi has been using him as an example on technique and footwork to the rest of the guys, and he has elite physical tools. i think we are going to be alot more of an attacking team on the edge with williams and evans this year

Eyebrows just slow you down...too much drag. Remember Dobbs is an Aerospace Engineering student...he knows all about drag.

At Bama we pretty much get nothing except bad or injuries. Players and coaches are off limits. Saban will not even remotely show his hand. Every spring we pretty much get the attitude that we might win 5 games, we are missing special players from last years squad, not playing up to our potential, not doing what it takes to be a champion. blah blah

yep, he's poised to become the Tiger rant's most hated player on Alabama's team.

He's a Baton Rouge kid so i'm sure they'll say he sucks, wasn't offered, trash, grade risk, etc.

Kendal Vickers has been an absolute beast this spring, which is good because we are gonna need solid DT's.

We offered and did cool on him.

BUT that was as a DE. He didn't fit Chavis as a LB or a DE. He fits the LB role at Bama well.

Probably a good move for all parties. He's a good football player and we definitely offered him, but stopped recruiting him hard towards the end.

Our new regime would have pushed much harder for him I believe.

ETA:

Definitely don't hate the kid. He should be a good one for the Tide and wish he was at LSU. We could use DE and LB depth right now.

And FWIW, he went to University High which is LSU's lab school on campus where he was teammates with Les Miles' kid.

yeah I think a lot of fans considered it a tradeoff with Kwon going to LSU and Williams going to Bama. LSU has gotten the better half of that deal so far. But Williams is looking like he's ready to breakout now. He was suspended almost all spring last year but he came back and showed some flashes. Now the coaching staff is really excited about him.

Biggest improvement for UT...changing from Adidas to Nike...that alone will make all players faster, stronger and better all around. No need to even practice, now that UT is a Nike school.

Nice gay pride shoes.

AJ Stamps and Thaddeus Snodgrass are two guys I'd like to see step up this season. Not much coverage coming out about spring practice this season. Lexington media has of course been all over the basketball team's Final Four run, and practices have been closed. All the more reason I'm excited to get down there Saturday and see the open practice.

Stoops also came out today and said Stanley "Boom" Williams could end up being "something I've never coached before, something special".
