Cats take down the Vols 2-0. Vols had 2 outs and their hitter was down 0-2 and they proceeded to load the bases with every hitter having 2 strikes, including a would be walk off grand slam that went just foul. Tough loss. Go Cats, LSU up next.

Cats just eliminated the Vols. 2-0

Why do people click threads--with obvious content, based on the thread subject-- only to type, "Who cares?"

I think the Cats just locked up a top 8 seed. which means a Super Regional host if they make it out of their regional which they should.

Auburn's first four batters are up there with anyone in the country and we've got two pretty decent pitchers and a good catcher. The rest of the team is pretty up and down but this is a solid club that will only get better next year and beyond under Myers.
Plus they've got my friend Kasey Cooper wrecking shop as a true freshman which is kind of awesome.
Should be a fun one tonight.

Auburn really got after Bama in Montgomery...hopefully the next game is more competitive.
I'd imagine we see Triana or Littlejohn get the start.

Congrats to the Cats and Tigers for upsetting the higher ranked team.

Ole Miss just fired their coach after just 3 seasons

Softball in the SEC is getting tougher as all the schools are better overall and the 2 additions (TAMU and MU) had good programs already so no weak links in the new kids.

Mississippi State and South Carolina are both solidly in the NCAAT. Both will be 2 seeds.
Texas A&M is also in and they didn't even make the SEC Tournament.

So which teams do you see the NCAA taking from the SEC and who gets left behind?

11 Bids.
Ole Miss, who just fired their coach, and Arkansas who sucks at life are staying home. Vanderbilt chooses to sponsor bowling instead of softball.
Mississippi State was the flipping last team in the SEC Tournament and they went 4-2 and won both series against the #1 and #2 seeds are are essentially ranked #26 in the polls.
Kentucky was the #7 seed in the SEC Tournament and they are likely to grab a national top 8 seed.
SEC Softball is scary good, but can't seem to win in OKC. Except for Bama and that fat pitcher that one time.
Florida, Alabama, Georgia are 1-2-3 in the RPI and should be a national seed. Kentucky may have slipped up and got the #8 national seed over Tennessee.
Tennessee will host, though. Missouri or Auburn will probably get an unprecedented sixth SEC host. Both are deserving, but probably won't get seven. There is some crazy talk in softball circles of making Auburn the 1 seed and letting South Alabama host as a 2 seed, but that's crazy talk. Could happen though if they don't want to give six host spots to the SEC.
The other 10 hosts are probably going to be UCLA, Oregon, Louisiana-Lafayette, Florida State, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Washington and Michigan.
Outside of UCLA and Oregon, any of those teams will not be excited to see Missouri, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU, Mississippi State or A&M as a 2 seed.
My best guess is that Auburn gets the host, Mizzou gets sent out West, LSU goes to Lafayette, MSU goes to Florida State, A&M goes to Baylor and South Carolina goes to Michigan.
Always remember SEC fans, when watching softball, the players that wear ribbons in their hair are giving a sign that they are straight. The ones that do not wear ribbons are not straight.

11 Bids. And all 11 could win regionals. Not kidding.
All kinds of awesome

It is more than just softball. Dores have no softball, gymnastics, volleyball, or equestrian. Would love to see the Dores pick up all 3 but the MS schools have no gymnastics either. 3 schools sponsor fewer than 10 sports for women in the SEC.

UGA pitcher has a perfect game through 4 innings. Yes, I just said it.

Error ruins the perfect game...No hitter alive through 5 and Dawgs up 2-0

8 strikeouts through 6 doe.
