We may own hurdles and I get that with Curtis Frye, but we're throwing millions at those facilities so we had better start signing some world class sprinters, vaulters and other field athletes soon. No excuses. Our facilities, soon completed, will be second to none.

that guy has gotten ike a 10-year grace period. Caolina hasn't been a contender in a long time, but I remember the early 2000s he had them rolling

Show a little mercy next time. I can't believe A&M is that much better than everyone else.

I really wish more SEC schools would add wrestling, but because of title buttfricking 9, we can't.

People with vaginas are the worst

STFU man

Missouri even did a study on the cost of running a Wrestling program. Its like the cheapest sport in the country.

UT- chattanooga has a wrestling program but UT does not. You mean the conference with some of the largest athletic budgets in the country can't afford to put out money for one of the cheapest sports to run.

I don't believe that. It more like Southerns don't give a shite about wrestling.

Here the map of wrestling schools. College Wrestling schools

Only 2 colleges in SEC country support Div 1 wrestling, UT-Chattanooga and The Citadel. All the High school wrestlers in the south have to go somewhere else to wrestle.

It's not about the cost of wrestling, it's the cost of the women's sport they'd have to add to make the scholarships even.

I haven't been this impressed by an athletic accomplishment since the 1939 college football national championship.

Auburn dropped wrestling in like 1981 because of Title IX. Sucked too because we had an excellent coach in Swede Umbach and a nationally known program.

I'd be okay with us adding wrestling and gymnastics.

So add womens wrestling too.

How much could a ring of mud or jello cost?

quote:

Female athletes at big-time Division I football schools (including today's Power Five conferences) received roughly 42 percent of total athletic scholarship dollars, 31 percent of recruiting dollars, and only 28 percent of the total money spent on sports.
Schools don't spend the same amount on both genders to begin with.

Budget Comparison
Tennessee athletic budget:$126,584,033
UT-Chattanooga Athletic budget:$17,359,207

The only difference between the sports they support is Rowing vs Wrestling.

Missouri has a wrestling program
Missouri athletic budget: $91,217,778

Missouri supports all of Tennessee sports and also supports wrestling, Swimming and Diving, and, Gymnastics like a lot of big 10 schools....

Hell Big 10 schools go beyond what Missouri is offering. They also support other sports like Water Polo, Ice Hockey, Field Hockey, Rifling,Lacrosse and Spirit Squad(WTF).

The only reason Tennessee doesn't have wrestling is because they want to spend as much money as possible on football.

Fastest indoor track in the world, I do believe.
I hate that I've never gotten to race there. I've gotten to do college station and Birmingham ham though both of which are comparable and really nice.

Ran for Auburn years ago. Distance/XC coach for a metro-Atlanta HS for the past 16 years. My HS team raced there Fri-Sat, 1st indoor meet ever for them.
