Almost anyone would be better than Orgeron. I doubt he would be better than Herman but he didn't lose multiple games he shouldn't have like Herman did.

I have been reading about him and he has done something remarkable that not even Herman could do. Herman just picked up where Sumlin left off but PJ Fleck has built WMU from ground up in a short time

They are already talking about putting in Ohio over PSU if Ohio beats Michigan.

So I think it is more about name brand more than conference title.

Which is really a shame.

If you don't win your conference, you should not have a shot. If you can jump your conference champ, why would you want other teams in the conference to be worth a crap?

All of the conferences look mediocre as a unit this year.

Would not surprise me at all to see the SEC do really well in the bowl games.

Herman has only been there 2 years. Houston was a shite show when Herman got there.

PJ Fleck has only been at WMU for 3 and has gone from 1-11 to a chance at a perfect season. Herman at least had some talent

Why would Jimbo turn LSU down?

LSU has so much talent and strong recruiting ties.

And the food has to be better in BR than Tallahassee

Florida State is in the middle of the most fertile recruiting ground in the nation.

This cannot be disputed whatsoever.

The SEC is dangerously close to becoming the 3rd or 4th best conference. A couple years ago the BIG10 saw the writing on the walls and began hiring the best coaches available and look at them now.
What has the SEC done, try to keep up with the Bamas. Hired coaches that had a little success against Saban (Malzahn, Freeze) and hired Saban disciples (Smart, Muschamp, yellow teeth).

The first reaction to Saban winning was for other west schools fire their coach and offer huge $'s to the best available. But, now that Saban is in dynasty mode no elite level coach is going to the SEC West until Saban retires.

You may be right, we will see who LSU is able to get, it will be telling, but if the league doesnt start looking in a different direction before Saban retires it may slip a bit more than most could expect.
