I guess they weren't thugs.....

I am more proud of Saban for turning these kids lives around than I am possibly winning 3 out of 4 NC's.Our players are a classy bunch. They go to class, they get degrees and stay out of trouble.Hopefully with Bama having so much success the other SEC schools will follow suite and start putting discipline and building character over winning.

Reminds me of the joke around here during Croom's first year.

Croom beginning of the year, "Time to clean up and get rid of all the thugs!"

Croom end of the year, "Hmm, probably should have kept a few of those thugs."

Disclaimer, had a state cousin tell me that one.

You don't have to recruit thugs to win, just look at Alabama. We've hardly had any arrests under Saban and still manage to win.

Saban has his problems swept under the rug for him. He had it done the entire time he was here in BR.

Bull.Crap.

So you're gonna tell me that if you could trade where Alabama is right now for a situation that included them losing 1 or 2 more games each year and having 0 titles, but every single solitary player on the team, walkons included, graduated with a 4.0, got their Masters, stayed out of trouble, helped the community, and got good jobs after college you would do it?

I bet you wouldn't.

No, we've definitely had some idiots get kicked off for very valid reasons as well. I was just pointing out many of the lesser offenses that got kids arrested/suspended/kicked off the team.

I am not trolling, just tired of the SEC getting such a bad national image with so many players being arrested.Sure we've won 6 NC's in a row but at what cost?We need more coaches in the league like Saban who know how to run a tight ship and win while putting discipline first.

I'm not saying that Bama doesn't recruit thugs, I'm saying that Saban is a life changer. He puts these kids on the right path and shows them how to be great men.

I guarantee that if Crowell had signed with Bama that he'd be going to church every Sunday, have a 3.8+ gpa, and rings on his fingers.

So suspending/ kicking them off is not disciplining them? If Saban started drug testing, they'd be exactly like any other program.

Surely you're not this gullible.
