So the game last night didn't count I guess. We are definitely 18-2.

You are 17-2 vs Division 1 teams. You have 1 win vs a Division 2 team and that does not count towards the RPI.
Not every post is out to get South Carolina basketball, promise.

None of it matters until mid to late February.
This is college basketball.

It matters very much. 2/3 of the resume has already been built. There is room to move up or down between now and then, but the current resume will make up a large bulk of the year-end resume.

This is why I kept saying RPI in late December was meaningless. I think we were somewhere around 150?
Win or lose saturday for us and we will keep moving up.

We were 200+ at some point

Are you using ESPN? That seems a tad inflated for LSU. We were 91 on the official RPI before the UGA win and CBS and Warrennolan have them at 82 after the win. That seems more likely to me.
A 14 spot jump seems a tad out of whack.

No, it's still meaningful because you have the 10th ranked conference RPI right now. If your non-conference RPI wasn't around 150 y'all would be in the tournament without a doubt as opposed to a bubble team.

10th? No.

Just win. We have enough games remaining vs good-decent RPI teams that the wins will take care of everything.
It's not ideal, but a 150RPI in December is not the end of the world.

Looks like Arkansas gets a boost in offensive efficiency and SOS and opposition's offensive efficiency in the KenPom formula.

Alabama still has to play the rest of these teams. Long shot, but man, if they could avoid bad losses and go 2-2 vs these teams, it would be nice.
LSU has gained a ton of traction. Their next game vs OU is huge. Busted their balls earlier in the season and now it has come to bite me in the arse.

I love KenPom, but we are getting to a point where the RPI is a meaningful tool. This is not because it is necessarily good, but because it is settling and wins/losses won't have nearly as much shift because there is lots of data and the NCAA still loves the frickin RPI for whatever reason.

It is because Kenpom sucks.
