That's a piss poor excuse for losing a bowl game. By that logic you may as well give a pass for all losses after a team drops 2 games since it'll be oh so hard to prepare now that a title is no longer on the line.
I agree with you. But it still happens.

I've come to learn that Bama never loses to a better team. Bama just didn't want to be there.
Latest interview Sabin says team was flat against Oklahoma in Sugar Bowl but was too hyped up for Mississippi in loss last week
"They were flat in the 2012 loss to Texas A&M. Same in Oklahoma Sugar Bowl. That wasn't the case against Ole Miss. They were too fired up and didn't channel it in the right direction. "
Direct quote from Saban haha I shite you not. The guy has excuses for everything. I remember when bama came out and smashed OU in the mouth several times the first half they hit huge plays for TDs, Then when OU started blowing up that NFL Oline the excuses started flowing Now we have a "too fired up" bama for a conference game against ole miss! What will it be next Nicki?

The SEC still dominates college football
Not true
The (insert p5 conference abbreviation here) is 3-4 good teams and 9-10 average ones.

The East has done their part in bowl season. The West are the ones shitting the bed

I'll take our 19 OOC game victories in a row and 4-0 in bowl games under Sumlin. IDC what excuse you make for them or call them, wins are wins.

Seems to me that the SEC has underachieved in Bowl Games in recent years because if it is not the bowl or challenge that they want, the team views it as a participation trophy, and doesn't put in the preparation and effort needed to win against rising competition
You need to put this on the Tiger Board. Some of us have never lost a bowl since joining the SEC. We handle our business.

Agreed. From Auburn's point of view, nobody wanted to play in Tampa last year after being top 10 all year. It was NC or bust and they busted so they didn't care about the bowl game

Sumlin gets his teams up for bowl games as good as anybody. He just has a lot of consistency issues even when JF was there.

I hate this excuse by anybody. Tired of going to watch us lay an egg at bowl time.

We did.
Last year.
And the year before that.

Every year LSU fans start 100 "you Aggies don't bring shame on the conference in your bowl game" threads
And every year they get boat raced by a weak team

I think it is the gauntlet our guys go through during the regular season they get wore down. Also any team that is playing an SEC opponent gets hyped up more so than another conference and out to prove a point.
