Jones could be the guy but his failing on the FSU kickoff td kept me from starting him.
I think he fell after catching a cramp.

Either way, cornerback is a question mark. Getting Derrick Moncrief from JuCo and Tray Matthews from Georgia will allow us to move him from safety back to cornerback, IMO. He just has to heal up from his ACL surgery, as does Jonathan Jones with his foot surgery. John Mincy has the other spot on lock-down, and we might see Trovon Reed more than originally expected.

Pretty good list. Only thing I would even consider changing would be Mauger over Parrish for at least opening day. Reasonable minds could also probably disagree over whether Fenteng or Dawson wins the CB job, but I would venture to say that Fenteng is more talented.

Either way, we're pretty experienced everywhere outside of the second CB spot and the nickel (Star, whatever fancy name it has).

Pretty pumped about the potential of our kicking game.

ETA: We're also pretty inexperienced at guard.

Alabama's tight end last year was a freak. Really surprised he didn't get more touches.

I think Parrish will be starting day 1 at either corner or safety. I put him at safety due to the new staff's emphasis on getting more speed on field, and Mauger doesn't really fit that. He'll still play a bunch though, most likely.

I think Dawson, Sanders, Wilkerson, and Davis will also play a bunch along with JJ Green playing Star, basically as a starter

I feel pretty good about Pyke. LG is a bigger issue.

TT. I see Owens at end. Should be a big leader for us this year.

I really like both Kublanow and Pyke. I think the problems at LG in the spring were a little misleading because Kublanow had the flu (I believe), was sick and couldn't participate fully.

I'm just concerned they have to open against Clemson's DL and have no experience.

I guess Beard could play there some too, but I really don't like Beard that much. At least he's started a few games in the past.

Beard is good enough to be a good reserve for us, but I'd really prefer if he wasn't starting.

I think Wynn could end up starting by midseason

Eight returning starters on offense...

QB: Hutson Mason
RB/WR: Todd Gurley
WR: Malcolm Mitchell
WR: Chris Conley
Slot: Michael Bennett
*TE: Jay Rome
LT: John Theus
LG: Mark Beard
C: David Andrews
RG: Greg Pyke
RT: Kolton Houston

Quick note... WR's JSW, Reggie Davis, and Jon Rumph will all have receptions in every game, there will be alot of WR rotation.

Also, Rome at TE will be pressed weekly by incoming freshman Jeb Blazevich, and by fullback turned TE/HB Quayvon Hicks. I think we'll see alot of rotation at that position this year. Rome seems to be constantly hurt too.

Eight returning starters on defense...

SDE: Ray Drew
NT: Chris Mayes (assuming we keep the 3-4)
DT/DE: Sterling Bailey
Jack: Jordan Jenkins
Mike: Amarlo Herrera
Will: Ramik Wilson
Sam: Leonard Floyd
CB: Damien Swann
CB: JJ Green (getting the most chatter from players and coaches)

S: Quincy Mauger (he's not great, but I just don't see Pruitt starting a true freshman over him.. it's not like we have our first 4 games as cupcake opponents. Maybe if one of our incoming guys was an EE, but they weren't.)

S: Tramel Terry (not sure why you move a superstar WR recruit to defense if you don't plan on using him immediately, like Mitchell's move to defense when he initially came on)

Shattle Fenteng will be the 5th DB in any nickel packages, I base this not just on his high ranking from JUCO, but Richt said they never take JUCO players unless he plans on playing them right away, and that's been the case with all the JUCO kids in recent years. Granted, it's all new staff on defense and Fenteng wasn't Pruitt's recruit so...

Also on Terry at Safety... if he turns out NOT to be the starter, then I expect him to immediately return to offense where he belongs.

Both returning starters in kicking game.

K: Marshall Morgan
P: Collin Barber

KR- two deep men AJ Turman + Sonick rotated.

Mayes is definitely the incumbent at NT. Interested to see if Pruitt sticks with him/how much weight he cuts.

As for Alabama. Your forgetting about 2 returnig starters on the line. Eddie Jackson is also out with a torn acl. Doubt hand plays much as a true freshman.
As for auburn, I believe Carl Lawson is out this year.

Carl Lawson had knee surgery, but not ACL reconstruction surgery. Dr. James Andrews has stated that he has made a remarkable recovery thus far, and he is expected back for the Kansas State game (as of now).

In short, he will likely miss a couple games, but not the entire season.
