Sometimes I think the NCAA needs to trim off some of the auto-bids. Especially teams ranked in the RPI 150+. When was the last time a team ranked that low ever made the final four?

Despite the win over Vandy, this is still too high. If you lose to us, you should feel very bad.

I'm just thankful we weren't your slump buster.

i'll believe it when i see it. i agree it does seem like the teams are better, but if teams like lsu and arkansas, who are supposed to have turned the corner, don't stop losing games like they did saturday, then the sec is not going to get more teams in than they have been the past few years.

This is some of the perception I'm talking about. Home losses aren't good, but I think Ole Miss and A&M are better than most thought they'd be. Both are in the RPI top 50.

Teams are starting to figure out that if Summers, Moody and White are all on at the same time for Ole Miss, they can just about beat anybody (Arkansas and UK games). A&M has some nice pieces, and the addition of Danuel House could make them a darkhorse team to watch for the tourney.

Lunardi's updated Bracketology has...

UK in as a #1 seed...

Ark in as a #6 seed...

UGA on the bubble as a #10 seed...

LSU in last 4 in as a #11 seed...

No one in first 4 out...

UF, Ole Miss & UT in next 4 out...

That is part of the charm of the ncaa tournament. Frankly, teams on the bubble only have themselves to blame for not playing their way in. Taking away part of the uniqueness of the tournament to squeeze more power 5 under acheivers in doesn't appeal to me.

Don't forget Ole Miss in the next 4 out. I did in my thread and was quickly corrected.

Wasn't really looking for them...didn't know they were having a good year. Big game against them this week I guess

But the SEC is much better this year
The league over all has become better and more competent.

will get at least 5-6 teams in the Dance.
The parity in the middle and bottom half of the league will probably hurt the number of teams that go to the dance. I think we are a 4 bid league this year.

It's still inconsistent. It's still hard to watch at times because of the styles of play. But the SEC is much better this year and will get at least 5-6 teams in the Dance.

I'll admit that it's better than the few years past but still inconsistent as hell.

5 would be a major accomplishment IMO
