Chavis' contract runs out next season and he has not been extended. Sumlin just fired his S&C Coach (the one who followed him from Houston). He won't survive 2017.

There's no point in firing Chavis right now. No defensive coordinator worth a shite is going to work for a coach he knows won't last the year.
