It's no longer the Hardees Trophy FWIW

It's called the Palmetto Bowl Trophy now.

Wait...the old one didn't look like a morally-questionable hamburger? What was the point of making it the "Hardees Trophy" then?

What's the history of the Alabama vs Penn State rivalry? That one surprises me, because I don't remember much between the two. I would've thought that USC would be a bigger non-SEC rival to Bama then Penn State.

I'm surprised that alabama vs ga tech isn't listed as a rivalry.

I was always told it was growing up, but not even I am old enough to remember when they were in the SEC

I'd think that would be more of a conference rivalry, though.

I am not sure it was a rivalry as much as a fuming grudge between Bryant and Dodds. Bobby was the one that had Tech leave the SEC, imagine in the modern realignment world letting any coach in any sport have that much power today! Maybe JoPa in the 80's or 90's when they were still IND and possibly Bowden back then, but that may be it.
