And the SEC network's starting license fee is 30% more than the BTN's fee after 7 years.
you realize fees are only part of the equation?

and I think it's clear the SEC came out ahead of all the other conferences. By a long shot.
SEC was already ahead of or close to or equal with other conferences

Do you know anything at all about population demographics?

with 11 and 12 teams not 14
way to be willfully ignorant.
adding more state footprints = more $$$
this isn't rocket science.
if the SEC (or Big10 and Pac 12 for that matter) stayed put they would not be making near as much money with their networks.
With the Big 10 rumored to want to go to 20 teams the SEC had to move to get more schools in new states to increase the potential subscriber base.
If it didn't, the Big 10 would eventually have so much more money that populations shifts, cold weather, etc would no longer matter and they could start plucking away talent from Southern states.

Removing the notion of cheating by paying players, what do you mean with this statement. Just curious as to your thoughts.

Wat?

Of course. But the SEC network has more value at its launch than the BTN has after 7 years, based on licensing alone - add in other revenues, and I think that difference will be even greater.

No question - but in the expansion game, the SEC was the clear winner, and it wasn't even close.

wow
again, you are being willfully ignorant.
this isnt tough to understand.
If the SEC stayed at 12 and the Big 10 expanded to 16-18 with all the new teams coming from new states their eventual take from the BTN would dwarf what the SEC is making.
If they ended up getting that much more money, they could spend more on the best coaches, have the best facilities, and reinvest more money into whatever else is needed to get better players and be the best conference. If you have the best of everything from the top down you are going to get the best players. Period. End of story.
The only way to combat that was for the SEC to ALSO add new territory for the SECN.
Why is this so hard for you to comprehend and accept?

That is the stupidest shite I have ever read

sorry that you two have zero ability to put two and two together.
CFB is in an arms race. If you don't find ways to increase revenue to stay ahead of the competition you are screwed.
Posted on 1/13/14 at 4:45 pm to Porker Face
Makes sense to me. It's like an arms race. The SEC is winning, and they've blocked the B1G from some moves that may have been advantageous. Very smart, and soon to be even richer.

28 million should be enough to knock done some buildings in the area.

I think OM may have already broken ground on the new arena, if not it will happen no later than this spring.
Renderings from september of the new arena , renderings of the football stadium bowled off end zone are not final renderings.
