You realize we did play teams OTHER than florida from 98-12 right? What does florida's coach have to do with anything?

Did you expect me to put a positive spin on your school? Where would the fun be in that?

Idk..just didn't really seem necessary ha. I guess using your logic, there should always be a note in the GA/FL record book denoting that all your wins in the 90s came against Goff/Donnan.

And no one really knew Saban was worth a shite before he came to LSU so what is your point?

Clearly Mark Emmert knew.

I took a few other swipes including @UF. I thought it was comical that I had to reach like that on UGa. Still a good point though?

Saban is and always has been a great coach. No one is going to deny that.

But, it's always the same ole lame BS from Bama fans on Miles' success at LSU. There was a thread on here the other day discussing the top 3 coaches, all-time, in the SEC. Two of them were Bear Bryant and Steve Spurrier.

Well.... Do you know what was going on with Bama's program two years after the Bear died? They were going 5-6 with Ray Perkins. Florida was firing Ron Zook 3 years after Spurrier left.

Seems to me that Bama struggled quite a bit between Gene Stallings and Nick Saban, which proves that not just anyone can run out and roll a football out onto the field and have success even at the greatest programs.

Point is, previous coaches, and their success, have very little bearing on what their successor accomplishes, regardless of how great they were.

Les Miles is a damn good coach. Just watch him in practice, he's great. Might not be a stellar clock manager but thats the only knock I have on him

All I know is, 2007 is getting further and further away.

1 title in 6 years is bad? Its not like we haven't been back to the big game either...

We are loaded with talent at every position. Not to mention this 2014 class will probably be the greatest in LSU history.

You act like LSU hasn't sniffed a national title. Had OSU not missed a chip-shot FG against ISU in 2011 we probably win the title. The way last year played out we could have wound up in Miami if not for collapsing against Bama.

We all know Miles isn't on the level of Saban as a coach. No one is. But he ain't Larry Coker either. Heck, Saban only has a one-game advantage over him H2H. I strongly disagree that Miles won't win another NC.

Come on.

And before you play the 2-loss card, need I remind you the only BCS national champion to not win their own conference?

Miles beating that 2007 team was no accomplishment. Everyone beat that team. They sucked donkey dick. Since then...Saban is 4-2 against miles.
4-2, 4-3 not a huge difference, thats not the point... The point is Miles has proven he can get there, even with a below average QB. He consistently develops players, and recruits at a high level. The future is very bright at LSU. Just watch.

Alabama did kinda collapse after losing that game though. Alabama was 6-2 prior to playing LSU (with close losses to FSU and UGA).

Than they went on a tailspin:

Sat, Nov 3 vs LSU L41-34
Sat, Nov 10 @ Miss. St L17-12
Sat, Nov 17 vs LA-Monroe L21-14
Sat, Nov 24 @ Auburn L17-10

And by your logic (since LSU sucked in 2008) why should we count LSU's loss to Bama the following year?

Didn't do much research hmmm?

LSU 1966-2000

1969 #10
1970 #7
1986 #10
1987 #5

That is four from 1966-2000

Not counting:
1971 #11
1972 #11
1982 #11

right, but it was losing to LSU that sent them into a tailspin (including that loss to la monroe)
