My daughter was with the Spirit guard back in 2011. It was an amazing experience for her and she was the youngest to ever make the cut at the time.. She is studying dance now at Carolina.

That's awesome! My buddy that goes to school with me marches lead trumpet at Crown.

Hey I liked that! They're really good. Generally I'm not a fan of winterguard though. And teaching it?

My daughter is having winterguard withdrawal bc she is in college now and no longer has that option bc she is dancing with the Carolina dance team.
She absolutely loved winterguard...almost as much as Spirit of Atlanta.
Her winterguard won the state title in SC for their division every year she competed except one. She is a badass with a saber!!

Speaking of which, I saw this on several of my friends' FB pages today. My favorite ever use of this meme.

Textbook definition of an alter.
Although that's not strange around here.
The strange part would be why would you make an alter to comment in a marching band thread and flame about a band and a coaches' daughter.
There are a lot of weird people among us that hang out on this board.
Creepy.

Both CU and UF mic up. Been to games for both in which the mic went in and out while they were playing. It was pretty obvious.
Yea our band sucks, hard, zero denying that. Having been to many LSU games growing up, when I went to my first Clemson game I was like WTF where is the band?
I genuinely couldn't hear them, they suck.

Boring? Yes, after the novelty has worn off.
Agree to disagree on that one.

None taken. Different strokes for different folks and all that.
Of course I'm biased toward the Aggie Band, but I liked them well before I considered going to school there. And while I obviously think the FTAB is second to none, I also really like the Michigan Marching Band, LSU's band, and USCw's.
None of 'em give me that feeling I get when I hear the Aggie Band sound "Recall," though

does a&m have a psi chapter?

they would really benefit from having a chapter installed.
they would be a great addition to my district.

Greek life at TAMU is anemic at best. Which is either a positive or a negative, depending on the Ag you talk to.
I never really cared one way or the other--the Corps was more than enough to keep me occupied.

No. Texas A&M at Kingsville and at Commerce do, however.
Tennessee's band also relies heavily on mics. And that damn Rocky Top is often miked in without the band even playing.
Also no one can compare in awfulness to Jackie Sherrill's daughter singing the national anthem. I missed it the first time but I was there at band practice the day Ms. Lance (band director) announced that she was back to sing again whereupon many in the band groaned loudly. Immediately Ms. Lance followed up with, "And here she is, Ms. Sherrill, ready to rehearse with us again!"

i always been a fan of the corps at a&m. i thought it was cool.
my first few years going to the district convention for kkpsi, i would look for a&m's chapter and i realized that they didnt have a chapter. Since a&m is one of texas flagship univs, i would expect them to have a chapter....but i was wrong.
I hope their band comes down to baton rouge this year, i would like to see the 4 way cross in person.
note: im BIG into old school military bands....6to5 or 8to5 is what im all about

Also the one that always surprised me is that Alabama doesn't have a chapter. Auburn's is excellent and I have many friends from their chapter.
