What three teams were the worst at reprersenting the SEC this year?

1- Tenn, by a lot. loss to bad UCLA, escape vs N Illinois, and then loss vs Wyoming. They wernt expected to be great, but that 1st loss hurt a lot.

2- S Carolina, yea they beat NC ST, but they got destroyed by Iowa and Clemson to end the season. Horrible for a middle of the road SEC team.

3- Alabama. The Clemson win was big, but for a top 5 SEC "powerhouse" to get humiliated by Utah,

I'd put Lsu. Flopping like they did this year and having to come from WAY behind like they did against Troy. In the fourth quarter.

yes, not great, but all 5 were to SEC teams, and destroyed #14 Georgis Tech in a near home game.

Anything to take the attention off your sugar bowl crash and burn, right? LSU has fixed the problem and has completely obliterated bowl opponents for the past 4 years. What's Alabama's excuse this year? They went 12-0 reg season and STILL managed to end the season on a losing streak. THAT'S embarrassing.

No, def not great ... for LSU, but I dont think a loss to an SEC team hurts the SEC.

Now having the worst year for a def nat champ, doesnt help either.

this thread has already turned into a pissing match so I won't add to that.
I will say the SEC, as a whole, would've lost alot of credibility this year if it werent for Bama having their big season.

LSU has fixed the problem

Really? How did they fix this problem? One win and they've fixed the lack of QB experience. Fixed a defense that got BLOWN out of the water by a couple of teams. Will now be making perfect coaching decisions and no long kicking 63 yd field goals into the wind. How did that miraculously get cured with a bowl win?

I would say the three teams would be Auburn, Tenn and LSU. Not knocking any of them, but just saying no one expected it.

Ole Miss helped the SEC cause as much as BAMA this year.

Florida was was by far the best- beating Miami and Fla St, even w/ a Ok loss, is better than anyone else this year.

I'd have to agree with you Cutie. Auburn and Tenn's flop.. for sure.. and Lsu has to factor in. We had a terrible bowl game, but we smashed Clemson and took care of business in conference except Florida.

The win loss record of the 2 teams that beat Bama

25-1

I don't think that's too bad, do you?

LSU is DEFINITELY on the list this year. We were all disappointed. But a lot of blame goes to one Ryan Perriloux and certain co-defensive coordinators. We saw the problem, and it LOOKS like we've fixed it.

What are the Gumps doing to fix their big game choke tendency?

LSU had the most disappointing year- hands down. But what teams did the most to hurt the perception that the SEC is the best conf.

I guess LSU has to be up there w/ 5 L's but still, no SEC loss, and a big win at the end of the year- I dont think they are in the top 3.

By the end of the year Bama was a "great" team w/ only 1 loss the the potiential#1 team. the utah loss was bad for the SEC, I'd say worse, for the SEC, than LSU's 5

The gist of the question was representing the SEC vs. OOC teams. LSU beat all OOC teams. Bammer didn't.

Uhhhh.....why has Auburn not been mentioned yet.

Tennessee
Auburn
Georgia (really good team, but flopped relative to expectations)

Did you watch LSU in their bowl game, GUMP? Jordan Jefferson played better at quarterback than JLee or Hatch have ALL season (the one exception would be JLee in the second half of the AU game). He played with composure and he played with smarts. Our defense was on target and playing with more fire than they have ALL season, Miles and Co (despite what I'm sure you will concede) called an amazing game and took it to a team that was supposed to take it to us. NOT LIKE THE VAUNTED ALABAMA TEAM that was absolutely Utah's bitch for four quarters after having weeks to prepare a games plan that ended up terminally being flat, ineffective, and utterly embarrassing to the talent you have.
