Either this is a weak troll or you haven't seen Southern miss play the last couple years.

I'm really surprised at those of you picking Southern Miss to cover.
They lost 56-13 to Nebraska
60-7 to Boise State
55-14 to East Carolina
55-14 to North Texas
36-13 to a BAD La Tech team
41-7 to Fla Atlantic
42-21 to MTSU
Their defense was one of the worst in America last year. On top of that their coach and players have been running their mouth about this game.
I see Mississippi State covering with no problem.

If i had to, I'd put my money on the pigs, but I will not be surprised at all if Auburn just boat races to a 42-14 type score.

Auburn only beat Arkansas St., Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina and Tennessee like that last year. The rest of the games were close. They beat Arkansas by 18 points, but the stats were very close. Hogs turning the ball over 3 times to none for AU was big.

Boise State has a lot of value at +9

27 is a lot of points for an unproven QB. Not sure about that
Then take West Virginia and enjoy your money.

That's a tough spread. USM is coming off of two seasons of 1-21, but this is their Super Bowl. They will not roll over easy.
That being said, I could see State winning 38-10, but USM still covers the spread. If USM is improved just a little, it could be a 28-10 type game as well.

We will score 35+.
The only way we don't cover the spread is if Monken can get their offense rolling, which is his specialty.
Getting a defense to perform at a high level is more about having good players, where as an offense can coach up a gameplan and cause legitimate problems.

If USM's defense only holds us to 28 it may be a long year. However I think we score 42+ on them
