Unless he changes his style, he'll underachieve. Too slow a style and he's had tons of talent in the past.

Cuonzo is a nice Leonard Hamilton/Lorenzo Romar hybrid. If that's you're cup of tea, he'll kill it.

Yea I expect lots of 17-21 win seasons. After 4-5 years they'll grow tired of it, but they'll be on more steady ground.

Sure, Martin made the Sweet 16 his last year and was one point away from an elite 8. But every year, his teams stumbled out of the gate and had to win 8 or 9 out of their last 10 games to even be in tourney discussions. He should have easily been in the tournament his last 2 years instead of play in game for one.

Martin has just been so underwhelming everywhere

Coach O was such an overwhelming success at Ole Miss.

I'm not completely sold that Wade is the next Billy Donovan, but at least there's that chance. This is his first gig at a Power 5 school. We'll see what he can do.

With Martin, you know what you are getting and it's a big helping of MEH! Dude has been mediocre everywhere he's been yet continues to land good jobs. Must have the same agent as Lane Kiffin. I wouldn't get too excited Mizzou fans. I know it's an improvement, but you're only going to go from bottom of the shithole to middle of the pack. And in 5 years or less, Cuonzo will leave for his next job before you get a chance to fire him. We brought you into the league for basketball, you're not helping your case.

With Canada as the shooting coach and aranda as shot blocking coach, they have to be the best in the country

This is a shitty thread and it's obvious that Cuonzo is the better coach.

Two NCAA tournament appearances, four NIT bids and a CIT championship (hey, how 'bout that) in nine seasons as a coach. He was 1-for-3 in his two previous Power 5 stops. And that makes it obvious Martin is the better coach?

Well both are probably better than Avery in the college game sooo

I seriously doubt that.

Anthony Grant's final two seasons: 31-33
Avery Johnson's first two seasons: 37-30

Not a bad turnaround considering a serious lack of talent left behind by Grant. As for that lack of talent, Avery Johnson just signed a nationally ranked top 5 recruiting class.

wait until he gets his players...kinda like the two 5 stars coming in. Also what a dumb statement.

I like Avery as a coach. I would have liked LSU to make a run for him, but I am happy with Wade. I agree with Avery getting his players and hope LSU fans are patient enough to allow Wade to get his players and system in place. to a healthy basketball rivalry.
