I went to a different Jackson doubleheader in the late 80's. This one featured Ole Miss- Bama and then Jackson St-Alabama St. Needless to say, I didn't stay for the nightcap. We went over to the State Fair.

A double header like those was certainly doable up til the last 10-15 years ago. The tailgating, all day affair these games are now, there's no way today to have 4 sets of fans in one place.

Re the tailgating...I can still see, clearly, the cute little black bear couples laying out their cute little red blanket, sitting their cute little picnic basket next to them, and dressed like they do now, sitting down, Great Gatsby'ish; while the LSU fans actually had fun at our tailgates. But it was always a fun wkend & the mixing of 4 fan bases was always interesting & entertaining, too.
