A: LSU finished down the stretch a lot better than Ole Miss
B: It hurts that MSU has a national seed locked up.
It's close enough between ole miss and LSU that LSU will likely get the nod based on fan support, stadium and most of all, location.
That's just my opinion.
Let me just add that both deserve it, and I wouldn't be surprised if either team got it.

LSU has a better conference record, better strength of schedule, actually has a winning record vs. the top 25, and finished off their last 20 games better than Ole Miss did.
