It should be ATL for football, Nashville for basketball, and Memphis for baseball. Everyone wins.

That and I just frankly have no interest what so ever in going to Nashville.

Why?

Sounds like Slive is content with Hoover.

Put in Louisville. UK fans make up at least 80% of the people there anyways, make it closer for them. Seriously though, Nashville is close but the arena is too small. Most UK fans prefer the Georgia Dome as its easier to get tickets to.

And what does living on the Westbank have to do with anything. I felt the same when I lived in TN and VA.
There is nothing in Nashville that interests me. I hate country music. I have music here. Memphis has BBQ. Why go to Nashville?

Put it in Louisville, KY. It will be good conditioning for all SEC teams making the NCAA tournament. Besides, non Kentucky fans do not show at the SEC tournament anyway. Why not have the seats full? I am dead serious.

This x 1,000

YUM is the best venue but not in a SEC city

Bridgestone is good but venue is smaller

Georgia Dome is too big and has bad sight lines. What about Phillips?

After those 3 I am pretty "meh"

Atlanta, Tampa, and New Orleans aren't SEC cities either.

If that's the qualification, Nashville is pretty much the only choice.

Atlanta is not an SEC city either.

The new Orlando Magic arena would be awesome though some would bitch about not being central.

They need to move it to Birmingham. That seems like the site that would cause the least amount of controversy.

They should just keep it rotating. The only place it should go if kept permanent is Atlanta.

Agreed.

But it's still a travesty the state of Kentucky doesn't get to sniff the rotation despite having the facilities to host in Louisville. But St. Louis will.

Only because of the Final Four rule thing.

But like I said earlier in the thread, it could make for a great week for a college basketball fan. Go watch great mid major basketball in the Arch Madness tourney and stick around for the SEC tournament. I used no adjectives to describe the play in the SEC tournament because I don't want to be mean.

The SEC basketball tournament is kind of dumb imo.

It's nothing like the SEC Championship game, that involves 2 schools, 1 game, and both teams are playing for something very important.

In any given year in a basketball season there are like 2-3 at most teams in the conference worth a damn and the other 10-11 are either terrible or mediocre.

The basketball tournament is 4 days long and you don't know how long your team will be in it, so why travel all that way if you're gonna get bounced first game.

And on top that, winning the tournament is nothing more than bragging rights. Almost always the team that wins it was going to get an NCAA bid anyway and other than the honor of calling yourself tournament champions it means nothing. The real tournament starts the next week.

So ya, it really doesn't matter where they stick the basketball tournament, it's never gonna be that big of a deal.
