Add 2 more good football schools so Bama has to work harder to avoid them. It will be harder but I'm sure your boys in B'Ham can find a way.

Basketball and baseball aren't included in your hypothesis I suppose?
Actually I don't think he was talking about sports with that comment...

All I am saying is the Mississippi schools make sense neither from a financial perspective ( you're not even ranked in Forbes' most valuable programs list) nor from an overall athletic success perspective ( schools like Georgia Southern are ranked higher than you in the Capital One Cup). And don't even get me started on your academics...
So tell me: what do you guys bring to the SEC that we couldn't easily get from another school?
Fun fact: last time we played them in football, Georgia Southern managed to score more on us than both of the Mississippi schools did combined that year.

Noticed a bunch of people talking about who they would want to add to the SEC. I'm honestly still pissed the A&M and Missouri got in. Both of these schools don't belong and bring the SEC down. If you are going to be in the SEC, you should atleast benefit the SEC in some way. All I see is a decent football team that will fall apart this year and a decent basketball school that has already fallen apart badly.
Um you do know that's the reason why you're FINALLY getting a SEC Network behind the BIG and PAC 12 and the conference about to make MORE MONEY. You don't get a SEC Network by adding a team from a current SEC state. And Mizzou and aTm are the only ones that made it open about wanting to JOIN the SEC. We didn't hear shite from VT, UNC, DUKE, UVA, etc wanting to join the SEC.

Further expansion will happen and will also include only schools that are Tier 1 institutions. North Carolina and Duke are the logical choices for slots 15 and 16, if the ACC begins to fall apart.
No they are not. Expansion is about markets, and the SEC will not want two schools 5 miles apart. The SEC's next expansion will likely be Va or Va Tech and NC State.

UVA would be nice but they don't have a strong program in any of the three major sports: Basketball, football and baseball. A&M and Mizzou are both noteworthy in the first two and A&M has a great baseball program. Tech and State are not AAU schools while UNC and Duke are. Duke and Carolina will never be in separate conferences so they'll have to be taken as a package. They are obviously nationally known in basketball and would, with UK, create a triad of dominance in SEC basketball, if not in the nation. The two would bring far more televisions to SEC-TV than would any other combo in the ACC.

They have a great baseball program, but you're right about football and basketball.

I apologize. You're right. They're highly ranked this year. I was just going by memory. I can't remember ever seeing the words Virginia and National Champions linked together, however.

People who think North Carolina or Duke is leaving the ACC is mentally retarded. The ACC is not falling apart. If anything its growing with gaining Louiville, Syracuse, and Pittsburg. Way too much history between them and the ACC and between each other.

Which is why they will not be targets by the SEC. It's about TV markets, not teams.
