Add Tulane and USM (since they want it so bad) to the West and Clemson and Florida St. to the East.

Being a selfish Ole Miss guy, I don't like the notion of our people having to travel to College Station or to Austin.

Yes. Houston by all means and the 17,000 total fans they'd bring. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

its sweet, indeed.
And it adds three states to the TV market.
over 40 million people.
Tex is 25. NC is 8 or 10. Va is 7 or 9.

NC was #1 in the USA this past year, for the over all title of best program, beating out Stanford for the first time in 18 years.
Tex is usually in the top few, too.
Both are high end academics.

now, go ahead and negotiate that.

I honestly would love playing Texas every year. That would turn into a nasty rivalry fast.

Since when does geography ever mean anything? In pro baseball and football Atlanta teams played in the West Division for years.

Actually yes I have. Have you?

My breaking is based on picking up Miami, Clemson, FSU and GT while leaving the current divisions in tact. Out of those 4, Georgia Tech and FSU are the 2 western most teams, therefore they join the West while Miami and Clemson are added to the East.

Power would be very well split in this scenario too if you ask me.

Just move Tennessee and Vandy to the West and add Flor. State, Clemson, Ga. Tech and Miami to the East would be the most logical decision.

Texas Tech doesnt have any sort of tie in whatsoever as a package deal with A&M or Texas.

Certainly not in the state legislature.

Yeah I didn't think about that. I'd sure stop what I was doing to watch that one. Great, great event for sure.

I'm just thinking about Atlanta.

UNC will not join the SEC. Just like Texas won't leave w/o Oklahoma, UNC won't leave w/o Duke. They rivalry is too strong.

+100. I actually was a little annoyed the poster thought UNC and Duke could be split... c'mon people.

In case anyone is interested, CFN did a story on expansion last week. Posted it on the SEC rant yesterday and might be germans, but here's the link:

NCAA 2015

Other than the fact that Texas is in the Big Ten instead of the Pac-10, looks possible.

This first I posted on another thread like this last week;
I honestly feel that Texas is hoping to keep everything the way it is and not go anywhere. I believe when it comes to push and shove they will end up in the SEC because it makes the most since with travel.

I BELIEVE IF IT HAPPENS THE SEC WILL GET:
TO THE WEST
TEXAS
OKLAHOMA
TO THE EAST
FLA. STATE
MIAMI

I would like us get UNC but I do not think that will happen because I think the ACC will pick up half of the big East teams and keep their basketball conference first league together. I think they will get
Syracuse, Rutgers, Pittsburg, West Virginia, Louisville and South Florida.

There could be something else in the works also the SEC might loose Kentucky to the ACC and pick up either Georgia Tech or Oklahoma St. maybe both and Vandy might leave also and go to the ACC. There are a lot of options that could be considered and the schools involved will have to do what is best for them. JMHO!

Now there is something new in the works with the teams from Texas going to the Pac-10 and if that happens that will leave the two Oklahoma schools coming to the West Oklahoma and Oaky St. and that would work out ok also but will hurt us in recruiting so I do not want to see that happen.

You can throw the whole state of TX out of the discussion...not going to happen IMO. They want no part of the SEC and that's fine with me. I think the most realistic additions would be Ga Tech, Clemson, Fla St. and Louisville. We can all debate on realignment of the divisions...but we will not be able to get 4 bohemoth programs IMO.

Because of recruiting I would like to see it stay the same way it is now. The big chip right now is Nebraska. If they can get their mess together they could rule the Big 12 North. I believe them going to the Big 10+1 is going to be detrumental to them. Talk about 4 big bohemoth programs that is what they would have so it is not out of the realm of possibility.

If you look at it now the SEC already has 5 bohemoths, Bama, Fla, Tenn, LSU and Georgia so one or two more is not going to hurt any more than them going elsewhere. All Texas wants is to be the top dog wherever they go. If it does not stay the same Texas will go the way of ND. JMHO!

Tough competition in conference. Great chance of having at least 1 school in the top 5 in most sports in perpetuity.

The sec doesn't need to add anyone. Wh fix something that isn't broken? We got our multi-billion tv deal already, so there is no need for expansion. Y'all do realize that this is the only reason anyone wants to expand? Honestly, we'd still be the strongest conference even if the PAC 10 were to go to 16 teams. 16 teams is way too many and makes being in a conference almost pointless

Houston is a rinly tink team compared to the SEC. Miami brings nothing but trouble to the table. No attendance no interest and thugs.

Va Tech would bring National Interest and they are a SEC type school
