Will the East have a better slate of QBs than the West?

Austin Allen, Jalen Hurts, & Nick Fitzgerald have all been extremely successful. Shea Patterson and Jarrett Stidham will probably be the 2 best NFL prospects behind Eason so I'd give the advantage the west but all depends on how all the new guys develop.

Lock is the best NFL prospect behind Eason.

We'll see with Stidham and Patterson.

The SEC is about to have a period of excellent QB play starting in 2017

WEST
Alabama - Jalen Hurts (SO)
Auburn - Jarett Stidham (SO)
Arkansas - Austin Allen (SR)
Mississippi St - Nick Fitzgerald (SO)
Ole Miss - Shea Patterson (SO)
LSU - Danny Etling (SR)
Texas A&M - ?

EAST
Georgia - Jacob Eason (SO)
Florida - Luke Del Rio (SR) / Felipe Franks (FR)
Kentucky - Stephen Johnson (SR)
Missouri - Drew Lock (JR)
South Carolina - Jacob Bentley (SO)
Tennessee - Guantonomo Bay (FR) / Q. Dormandy (SO)
Vanderbilt - Kyle Shurmur (JR)

That's a lot of both talented, experienced and talented + experienced QBs. Probably the best crop since 2013 (Manziel, Franklin, Murray, Mettenberger, McCarron, Shaw, Marshall, Allen, Prescott).

Bentley, Lock and Eason

All three are legit QB's. If they improve like they should it could make the rest of the East miserable, and possibly help us to make up a little more ground on the West.

#3 ranked dual threat QB. Skinny as a rail. He's gonna be broken.

Del Rio will be a redshirt junior next year and when he's healthy, he's pretty decent. There are still a lot of questions about Franks after his disasterous Orange and Blue game appearance, which I personally thinks stems from a confidence issue (the kid has got talent, but he's feeling the pressures of being a Florida QB already). Don't rule out the possibility of Kyle Trask either. While he wasn't recruited as heavily as Franks, the kid was much more poised in the pocket.

Honestly, I don't think anyone knows who will be taking snaps next year

If its Del Rio you can start the countdown clock on Mac's time at Florida. I think Luke might be a decent game manager but that's not what Mac needs to succeed next year with the defense dropping off- a 25ppg QB leads to a 6 or 7 win season, a result which when added to worst in the modern era recruiting "prowess", would end his tenure in Gainesville by year 4.

Yea, I saw nothing from Del Rio that said "SEC Starting QB", even as a game manager type. He just isn't very good.

Absolutely baffling UF cant seem to find a QB. Appleby and Del Rio are servicable at best. Hopefully Franks works out for them.

I was big on Lock until the UGA game this past year. Seemed like every drive in the second half ended in a pick. That was awful. He was just heaving them there.

Bentley looks like he could be really good. Just not sure about the pieces around him. He us dynamic.

Eason was meh for me this year. Cannon for an arm. His throw to Ridley in the UT game was a beauty. Perfect. But its the only memorable pass that I saw and I watched almost every UGA game this year. Just needs to work on the accuracy and checking down when the first read or two isnt there. Pumps and holds the ball too much. Indecisive. Biggest thing for him accuracy and touch. Everything he throws is a fastball. Doesnt make it easy on the receiver. All can be fixed though. Worrisome that it didnt seem to get better. Lots of overthrows deep and intermediate in the bowl game. Definitely has the tools though.

It was strange, actually. First half he couldn't miss. The second half we couldn't miss. I understand adjusting at halftime, but it was like once we adjusted he couldn't figure out what we were doing.

Lol yeah. He looked unstoppable in the first half. Dialed in. Picking on Briscoe. Complete 180 after half.

that was our problem.

Briscoe got benched the next week for Baker and we never looked back.

It was a really odd game. I credit your defensive staff for halftime adjustments because he was shredding your defense in the first half for sure.

I'm really hopeful he cuts down on mistakes next year because he has legitimate first round potential and we could be REALLY good on offense next year:

Either Guarantano or Dormady.

Guarantano is supposed to be really good, but raw.

FYI, Huddie, he was rated higher than Jalen Hurts on 247.

I'm not saying he's better, but he'll probably be fine.

With everybody including Ralph Webb back on offense except for LT Will Holden I would expect the O to take a step forward next season and show more consistency.

How is your defense looking for next year? If your offense improves than you guys could really make some noise next year.

Vandy actually returns 20/24 (if Cunningham leaves early) starters including the kicker and punter in '17. There's actually some talk that Zach Cunningham has yet to declare because he is 50/50 on whether or not he is going to come back to school (which would obviously be massive for us but personally think he should go on to the NFL).

Only starters gone are LT Will Holden, DT Adam Butler, Zach Cunningham (potentially) & CB Torren McGaster (who was really only starting part time by the end of the season with JoeJuan Williams coming along).

It could potentially be a great year and definitely should be another bowl team but depth at Vanderbilt & injuries really almost always tell the story of VU season.

Lol at using Rivals. #1 dual threat on 247 composite and the exact measurables as Mariota out of high school

Stephen Johnson is really underrated. He'll be the starter unless Clark just really gets to know the offense quickly.
