If Florida goes 5-7, Mcelwain will be behind the 8 ball- he needs a year showing promise for the future (8 wins and an explosive offense) to jump start recruiting otherwise with graduation and transfers he might be in trouble long term given the train wreck Muschamp left.

I just hope that y'all are wrong and the East has more than one team reach the 10-win regular season mark... it's not as much fun when the SEC is really just the SEC West.

Until Georgia and Tennessee start playing big boy football, I am going with perennial SEC East Powerhouse Mizzou.

It doesn't really matter though, because the SEC West Champion (either Ole Miss or Texas A&M) will represent the SEC in the playoffs.

Vandy is the only team that would shock me if they win the east.
Ok I will be half shocked if Kentucky does but no one else would shock me.

UGA and Mizz both have 2 SEC east titles the last 4 years...

Since Mizzou has joined the SEC, they've won the East twice as much as the rest of the SEC East division combined.

I disagree with you on Georgia in that there isn't the WTF loss that they have a problem with every year. Losing to Auburn and Bama would not be a surprise.

If UF only wins 4-5 like many of you are suggesting, McElwain better not even unpack his UHaul. He has as much defensive talent as UF has had the last several years to work with and has the best group of RBs on paper that UF has had in years as well. I don't even need to say anything about the QB situation other than "Driskel", it literally can only get better at that position. With modest OL play, UF is easily looking at 7 wins. If the OL is actually above average they probably have a 9-10 win ceiling, regular season.

'Sulli, I agree, but I'm gonna give UGA the benefit-of-doubt. You've said it before, wait for UGA flame-out. I would have picked Mizzou except for the lack of depth on the DL.

My bad, I copied the OP and changed everything from there and forgot to fix UT's overall schedule. Fixed

I predict this will be considered a waste of bandwidth in less than 5 months.

Well I can't blame you, counting on someone else to screw up is not exactly the best thing to hang your hat on.

I still like Mizzou's chances to win the East this year. They may need a lucky break along the way but Pinkel has shown the ability to keep his team focused in the hunt for a division crown.

If McElwain only wins 4-5 games with this roster (unless a 2013 injury fest happens), then Foley should fire him.
