SEC East football......where does it stand?

I find it a curious part of the SEC for the fact that Florida is a dumpster fire (albeit only for 1 year which I believe was a complete anomaly), Tennessee has still never really recovered from LSU's initiation of their #tDecline, and Vanderbilt and SCAR had been the only consistent winning programs in the division besides Georgia. Excuse tMassive run on sentence, but I'm also not counting Mizzou's recent success.

What does everyone believe with the SEC East's current standing? Will this trend continue? Or will the new crop of coaches change the atmosphere of certain teams in the east?

As it pains to say it, here at Mizzou we always win 9-11 games a season but never really get over that hump of being a national title contender. 07 and last year we were one game from a NC berth, but if we don't get there in the next few years, I'm afraid it may never happen :(

Better than most of college football but behind the west. They'll recover and the west will recede in cycles like always.

South Carolina is probably the favorite but good luck picking that

of course guessing the West out of Alabama, Auburn, and LSU is just as much a crap shoot

I think the east is only a year or 2 out of winning SECCG's again.

UF could be "back" just like that. The right coach who can recruit well could get them to top 10 again in a heartbeat.

And the East would still be perceived as the weaker division. What does my post count have to do with anything?

Non-existant, they did away with divisions in basketball a few years ago.

The east is missing the big name coaching hire. Yes, the ol' ball coach is a legend, but outside of him, who in the east can compete with the proven success of Saban, Gus and Miles?

If one or two of the east teams would make a big splash head coaching hire in the next year or two, I could see the league coming back to parity. Otherwise the west will have the advantage with the east maybe getting an SECCG win here and there, but not going on one of those runs like they had earlier.

Ain't it something when Vanderbilt is a forreal contender for the east every year

Honestly, have they even come close? I thought it has come down to Georgia and South Carolina the past few years, with UGA obviously winning the trip more.

Florida got close one year, and Missouri was lucky last year.

You're right. But what I'm implying is that they have still hung with the big dogs (maybe not from the west) but nevertheless better than most from the east. Including the perennial powers.

Whether the West wants to believe it or not , the conference has been roller coaster since it went to divisions. Both divisions have had SECCG streaks of 6 ( east) & 5 (west); currently tied over-all @ 11 ea.

The conference is probably as balanced as ever now, outside the champ game streak of 5 the west is on.

EAST WAS 6-8 against the WEST in regular season , 6-9 overall.

Most of the games were extremely close and could have gone either way.

Based on history , the East probably wins the CCG this year.

Well they pretty much pasted everyone in their division (with the exception of SCar of course) yeah they got really lucky.

Lucky why because we stayed healthy. Our first year was crazy most of our starting oline was hurt Franklin had no protection at all and had to play Berks which isn't very good

There is no way Missouri beats a healthy UGA.

Sorry, you fluked into Atlanta this year. It's still impressive, being that Missouri is a newcomer. However I wouldn't count on making it back for a while.

Unless Spurrier doesn't have that one game where he just chokes our of nowhere against a massively inferior team that knocks him out of SECCG contention, I don't see it.
