lol. Slow time right now until the good bowls start an then we have to wait to evaluate recruiting classes since there will still be flips that happen next month so people just spend some short time pondering about what next season could be like before we learn more about each team and then spring ball.

Yes the problem is Richt. In the last 5 seasons UGA is 47-21. In Donnan's 5 seasons he was 40-19. Richt has a 69% winning percentage and Donnan has a 68%. Not much difference between the two when you look at actual facts. Heck the 5 previous seasons beginning in 2006 UGA is 48-17 which was 73% winning percentage. In his first 4 years (with DOnnan's players in the program) he was 42-10.

Don't get me wrong. I hope they keep Richt around for years. It's scary to think what UGA would be like under a great coach.

BTW, I didn't give Richt credit for 2002 with Donnan's players. My bad.

Here's what I see -

Florida is a giant mystery, but they have a whole new staff coming in, and no QB that I can see and big depth issues on the offensive line. If they finish better than fourth in the division I'll be stunned.

Georgia will be replacing their QB and their OC and they draw both Alabama AND Auburn from the west, which isn't favorable.

Tennessee is returning the most pieces, but they have a tougher west draw than Missouri, and they have to play @ Missouri, and until they actually figure out how to beat UF, I just don't see enough wins on the schedule.

Kentucky could be a dark horse if they can find a defense and some special teams because I think they have the most talented QB in the division and they return a lot of pieces on offense.

Vanderbilt is going to be really bad, I think.

Missouri looks like the safest bet to me. Reasonable West draw, UT, UF, and USC at home. The key game will be @ UGA and I think they could lose that and still win the division.

South Carolina just looks like a mess right now. We'll see of the Ole ball coach can turn it around. New QB doesn't scream success to me though, and that west draw looks tough with LSU and TAMU.

As of today, which is way early, I'll say:

1. Missouri
2. Georgia
3. Tennessee
4. South Carolina
5. Kentucky
6. Florida
7. Vanderbilt

Everyone in the division will have at least 2 losses IMO.

I agree that the top of the SEC East in 2015 might have two conference losses and the winner will likely be from a head to head matchup.

I forgot to mention, we had 3 Senior receivers graduate but we also kicked 3 more receivers off the team, so a big turnover year at that spot. Hell we're probably gonna start a walk-on WR in our bowl game. Course I love the walk-ons.

I expect the drop off everyone predicted for Mizzou last year to catch up with us this year. There is no way we should finish ahead of UGA again.

Strangers things have happened.

We'll be just fine.

WR (and RB) are the spots you don't worry so much about experience.

We didn't lose all our DL starters either. Brantley is back, and along with Augusta forms one of the top DT combos around. Harris was very close to breaking out. Next year I think is the year.

Mauk should be better/more consistent.

I have absolutely no idea, but I feel pretty confident it won't be UF. They will have to be improved almost by default, but how many 1st year SEC coaches win their division? Off the top of my head, since 2001, there's been: -miles, 2005 is that it?

Good point. Maybe GMac has a slight edge due to his previous SEC experience but I agree it would be a surprise for the Gators to grab the title in his first season. QB play must improve but doesn't have to be Tebowesque IMO. Sound defense and about 25 ppg in conference play could get them there.
