B1G are assholes.

Michigan, Ohio State, etc. get $51.1 million next season. Rutgers gets $11.6 million. Highway robbery. Column: LINK

they will start to fail, the big 10 does have a great academic bank roll though to fill in some campus gaps

It's hard to believe these schools join conferences with unequal revenue sharing. The SEC definitely does it the right way

BUT, what did Rutgers get under previous arrangements?
Nevermind: still a lousy deal for them.

One of the few things I like about Bama is that it has always been a good neighbor. Texas destroyed the Big 12, Notre Dame has wandered in the wilderness alone. Apparently OSU and Michigan would take their lessons from Texas and not Bama. Big mistake.

Where do you get your information
From the UNL media guide

The truth is if UT did not join the Big 8 Mizzou would have went into the BIG and CU would have went into the PAC 10 in the early 90's

The Big 8 needed the Texas TV markets so without UT those universities left in the Big 8 would have pretty much been either absorbed into other conferences or would have went to lesser conferences like the MWC

The SEC has always been very upfront with its we will sink or swim together philosophy. Obviously Alabama and Saban are on a huge roll right now but before then the conference was carried by other schools and other coaches.

We all get a share of the big pie and that means that every school in the SEC has the financial ability to put together a dynasty in some sport.

While I agree I wonder if part of it has to do with the fact that the state of Alabama itself doesn't have the sway that a Texas/Michigan/Ohio. I don't mean this as an insult; I'm just saying that I bet things would be different if a Flarda or Georgia had the success Bama has had.

At any rate, I don't care as long as Texas, et al can't get it through their dumbass heads that it's better to have a good solid conference rather than taking everything for yourself. For the life of me I can't understand how anyone would get excited for football year after year playing a bunch of scrubs. The worst is that it hasn't even seemed to pay off in terms of titles, conference or otherwise.

Let them keep chasing the titles. The rest of us SEC fans get to be excited every season because we play each other. And even if we suck one season (or pretty much every season like Ole Miss), at least it's fun getting up for that one game against your rival and the chance to ruin their dreams

We're spending our SEC money on baseball. Now that's outside the box

The SEC works because we are Southerners ... plain and simple. Southerners play nice with one another better than any other region in the country.

We bust balls on this board ... but the rest of the country is jealous of our SEC SEC SEC chants.

That Southern thing is also what makes the ACC our most dangerous threat for the foreseeable future, truth be known ... at least from their Southern programs. Although, they've been diluted and corrupted by inviting the yankees into their midst.

I know people from the Coasts, NE and West, that were honestly surprised that the South had indoor plumbing. I kid you not.

If you are from the South then they think you are a racist, inbred, hillbilly who craps out in the cotton field.

Places like Charleston, Fayetteville, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Knoxville, and so on routinely show up on the nicest and most affordable places to live lists and most of those frickers still think that we are the Beverly Hillbillies.

So its no wonder we default to the age old "Me against my brother, me and my brother against my cousin. Me, my brother, and my cousin against the world." We might dislike one another but we will close ranks and destroy an outsider in a heartbeat.

Frick California and New York. I'd rather live in a drainage ditch in New Orleans then live in either of those places.

Seems I struck a nerve with a Texas fan.

Would any of the aTm or Mizzou fans care to express how THEY felt about Texas in the Big 12?

Greedy self-centered entitled jerks. You don't want to be in a conference with Texas unless there is no other choice.

Seems like they're being paid in accordance to their contributions, whereas the SEC lets low income teams leech off of the high earners.

If those are my two options, I'll take no other choice.
