AD's sure are quick to fork out big bucks to guys have have yet to earn it... and it's not like anyone's knocking the doors down to hire these guys either.

I would give most of the money through incentives instead of base salaries. Especially if I hired a new unproven HC. If they win more games than a veteran coach they deserve more money. That way if they suck you don't give them much but if they are good they make more. Either way they make what they deserve.

And people say we are paying players... Hell, it seems like we are too poor to adequately pay our staff

Thank god I'm not a fan of either of the Mississippi schools

It would suck being so damn poor

So you could just barely scrape by on $2 million/year?

Dummy, no one comes to FL and hires away the coach.

That's the only one that really struck me as odd. 0 seasons and he's #4 in the SEC? How does that make sense? I guess Arkansas had to come up with those bucks to get him, but still... that seems a ridiculous gamble.

For the earlier comment concerning taxpayers: that's nonsense. Taxpayers don't pay a dime of those salaries. At least not at A&M, and I strongly suspect most others.

no sh*t... then why give him a raise?... he's not going anywhere and hasn't won anything substantial warranting a raise...

Foley is the best in the business, but giving out raises after two years and 18 wins is silly, IMO.

Because you have to keep up with the market to keep your staff happy. It's fairly simple.

I totally missed that Franklin is making $3 million. What is the asterisk for? He has such a cush job. Win half your games, and you're a hero.

Winning at Vandy isn't exactly easy.

As for Muschamp, I don't have any problems giving him a raise. Most jobs would give a raise to a guy who saw that much improvement in year 2. He's still in the middle of the pack salary-wise in the SEC

Bielemer will be exposed as most overpaid coach in the league by mid-season. He should have stayed in his cushy BIG job.

We hired a proven coach and paid accordingly. We're dropping big $$$ on assistants too.

I forget the exact stat but wasn't he like 27-2 against the bottom 4 of the Big ten and sub .500 against everyone else?

So Coach Bert can beat Kentucky, Mizzou, Auburn and Ole Miss but regularly loses to Bama, LSU, UGA and Florida? Sounds like he's a great fit at Arkansas.

Arkansas paying BB 3.2 mil is ludicrous... You're talking 6 and a half million over the first two years... That'll put him right at 500 grand per victory.
