Ole Miss is the only school I would say is off by more 2 spots.
I think the debate between USCe and Arkansas is close. South Carolina definitely has a talent advantage over Arkansas but they also have to share their state with a strong program.

But Ole Miss does have a national title and one of the best two decade runs in conference history on its side.
What two decade history is that?
LSU, Bama, UF have all won more national titles in the last two decades than OM has in their history

I didn't say anything about the most recent two decades. I also am making no claim that Ole Miss should be higher.
Ole Miss in the 50s and 60s ranks up there with just about anybody. In any era.
History Lesson

Just because you claim it doesn't mean everyone else does.

How many national titles did they win in the 50's and 60's?

Complete Rankings:
1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Georgia
4. Florida
5. Auburn
6. Tennessee
7. Texas A&M
8. Ole Miss
9. South Carolina
10. Arkansas
11. Missouri
12. Kentucky
13. Mississippi State
14. Vanderbilt
I'd say this is actually spot on.
I'd maybe move Texas A&M over Tennessee just because of the untapped potential the Aggies have vs. the downward direction of the Vols' program.. but otherwise spot on.

10. Arkansas
This is ridiculous.
Ole Miss's last three hires are:
A coach with 1-year experience in D-1 football, less than 5 years removed from high school
A coach that was forced out of Arkansas
A coach with only experience as a DLine coach
Two of Arkansas's last three hires:
A guy that won three consecutive big 10 championships
A guy with NFL experience, BCS bowl win, and two top-10 finishes

MsState should be number 1. Look at the tenure of each coach. Clearly it is easy to make millions at msstate simply by going 7-5 and have boat loads of job security and support.

What is your argument for Ole Miss at 8?

I still think MSU is the best job in the conference. 5 MM per year, they invest in recruiting and facilities, AND only expect 8 wins. Can I haz?
Posted on 6/20/17 at 2:17 pm to Finch
Less than they should have, clearly. But what glorious coaching job ranked behind the Rebs in the op have more? Arkansas has a better history but also have the worst in state talent base of all the sec schools. The point is that if you think OM job should be ranked lower then you must think one of those other crappy jobs should be higher. And that certainly isn't cut and dried.

How is Florida ranked #4? Since expansion, they have won numerous SEC titles, 3 national championships, have had two hall of fame coaches and a multitude of NFL talent.
It fell in your lap.
Ever wonder why UF, FSU, and Miami all exploded into relevance at the same time? Literally from 1983-2001 the state of Florida dominated football. But the rest of the nation finally caught on and started recruiting Florida hard. The 3 main Florida programs still get many of the great in-state recruits, but the out-of-state programs have been getting a ton of them since about 2002... that's why all 3 Florida programs have fallen off since about 2002, save Urban's brief stint of success.
Florida may have been the SEC's best job during the 1990s or 2000s... but nowadays its back to probably #4 or #5 in the league.

My argument wasn't that OM was ranked to high, I asked what two decade period were you talking about because of the recent success of UF, LSU, and Bama. While the 50's and 60's were good for OM they didn't have the accomplishments of either of the aforementioned 3 teams and that is just in the last 17 years.

Arkansas is a better program that Ole Miss, for sure. But the state of Mississippi has better in-state talent than Arkansas and its closer to the top talent in Lousiana, Alabama, Florida, etc.
I'd maybe move Ole Miss down a notch, but Mississippi produces quite a bit of talent per capita...maybe the most in the country.
Posted on 6/20/17 at 2:23 pm to GermantownTiger
Ole miss is a CBSSports school. They always rank them waaaaay too high in these rankings.
Posted on 6/20/17 at 2:23 pm to Finch
they were the second best program in two different decades. I'm pretty sure Alabama is the only other SEC program with more.

Don't disagree with the talent argument but something should be said for having the state basically for yourself as Arkansas does, I think USCe should also be above them.
But as I said earlier I think the list is fine for the most part except Ole Miss.

Bama is on top because of Saban and the success he's had
Bama has 26 SEC titles. They've won 5 of those in Saban's 10 seasons in Tuscaloosa. The 21 conference championships they have before Saban is still 8 more than the second place team (Tenn), 9 more than the third place team (UGA), 10 more than the 4th place team (LSU), and 12 more than your team.
Funny you use that "because of Saban" talking point while ignoring Stallings, Bryant, Thomas, Wallace (and, conveniently, Spurrier and Urb...what has UF done outside of those two?).
