I can promise you Bama won't end the season with 9 of the 11 starters on the All-SEC teams. That's why this is preseason projections, only dumbasses use preseason as an indication of what will actually happen during the regular season!

Alabama's O-Line last year took about 5 games to gel. My point being is all lines need time. Even yours.

Do they also think the world is round?

Nah. Ego, Raso, Alexander, and company are apart of a way better defense. Bama's defense gets exposed against good teams, remember?

Qualitatively, LSU may have the better defense this season, but yielding 400+ yards is not good defense. An elite defensive performance is to hold a team well under 300 total offensive yards. 2011 is the best defense the Chief has coached at LSU, but they gave up 21 points and 465 passing yards to West Virginia. Last year's defense had some weaknesses too.

No they didn't. They voted them to the PRESEASON All-SEC team. They're saying Alabama SHOULD BE the best. Which - of course they should be. I don't think that translates on the field though. We'll see!

This is why we play the games.

Due to the unforeseen, I would not use the word "should". There are only two teams I can see qualitatively finishing with a better defense than Alabama, and they are LSU and perhaps Florida.

Regarding the word "elite", I forgot to mention points. An elite defense never will allow 4 touchdowns while the game is in question and rarely will allow 3 including garbage time. Points win ball games, but when discussing defense you must consider yards too.

You're being deliberately deceptive here. Yeah, they moved the ball a lot, but take into account the red zone numbers and where they started each drive from.

Oh yeah... Well Odell Beckham Jr. made 1st team, 2nd team, and 3rd team preseason All-SEC at the same time!

In '11 the coaches had Mo Claiborne as the only LSU player (offense and defense) as preseason all sec, 1st, 2nd or 3rd team.

Saban scheduling a bye before A&M was a mistake. That terrible and inexperienced offensive line won't have time to gel.
