These rankings are shite. There are 2 coaches that are ranked ahead of Heupel and shouldn’t be. Deboer being ranked that high before coaching a game in the South East is comical by itself. Here the way it should look.

1. Kirby
2. Kiffin
3. Heup
4. Sark
5. Kelly
6. Deboer
7. Freeze
8. Drink
9. Stoops
10. Elko
11. Venables
12. Pittman
13. Beamer
14. Lebby
15. Lea
16. Napier

You have too many coaches who haven’t won any championships above championship winning coaches. Your list is bad.

Agree that Deboer being ranked that high before even playing a game is hot garbage. They really think Bama will not miss a beat and possibly be better than Saban. lol!

Like who? Debeor winning the Pac12 is not relatable to the SEC for one. So let’s just get that out of the way. He has never coached a game in the South East, much less coached a team in the South East.

So who has won championships, that are to low? Remember, there’s more than just winning championships that makes you a good coach. Every situation is different and it takes some coaches to build a team 1st to be able to even compete for a championship. Let’s look at Heup, as I think that’s who you’re referring to.

Heup- took over a 3 win team.
Tennessee didn’t have any players drafted between 2014-2016.
Players drafted under Heup- 12
Players drafted 2015-2020- 11
UT NY6 last bowl win- 2022
Prior to Heup NY6 Bowl win- 2005 Cotton Bowl(would become NY6 Bowl)

As you can see, Heup took over a team with no real talent really. The best talent they did have transferred as soon as Pruitt was fired. No other coach on the SEC came into a job as hard as Tennessee was when Heup took over. And in 2 years he finishes the season #6 in the country. That alone is just as impressive as anyone else has done in the SEC outside of Kirby.

Stoops is so overrated as a coach it’s disgusting at this point. Dudes been a below average guy that can’t recruit, can’t coach, and just had his schedule that was propping him up taken away. Due is Shane Beamer without the personality. I get that expectations at uk are low and they can’t reasonably expect to do better but dudes not good.

Deboer at #3 shows this person thinks Bama hit a homerun hire.

Sark over DeBoer?

If they only had recently settled this on the field.

Lowest one I’ve seen yet.

Previous rankings have had him at #2, including a previous SDS ranking.
