Richt
Spurrier
Nutt
Johnson
Brooks

I can't rate Kiffin, Chizik, or Mullen against the others yet. But of the three:

Mullen
Kiffin
Chizik

Legit reason to put Les over Richt. I am biased though. This year will tell alot about Les. First real "down year" he's had last year...see how he bounces back...

I'm pretty much with ya Dawg. Except I don't think Saban is a clear cut #2. He doesn't have a great bowl record and has lost too many games to teams from the WAC, Sun Belt, and Conference USA.

He's consistently ranked in the Top 10 whenever one of the "best coaches in the country" things come out. You've just got a hardon for him for some reason.

#4 Nutt:

Made two not three SECCG's and was humiliated in both. Nice research SI. Additionally, he made the trips thanks to a Matt Jones Hail Mary Miracle and an Alabama probation.

Shall I go on?

-Record against Top 25 that is deplorable.
-Road record that is gut busting hilarious.
-Bowl record that is shameful.
-Damn near .500 in the SEC after 11 years.
-Ran off the likes of Gus Malzahn, Damian Williams, and Mitch Mustain
-Before leaving Arkansas was the longest tenured BCS coach without a BCS Bowl. That streak will continue.
-Went .500 in SEC play, and lost a couple of Bowls, with the most successful backfield in the history of the game (All-Purpose Yards)

If Nutt is the #4 coach, then the SEC really sucks balls. He is a .ho-hum, .500 type coach that has nothing more than a resume full of failure, ready to be dropped off at any school that needs little more than some preaching and feel-good bullshite pumped 24/7.

Wait, despite a knack for losing to Vandy, he did beat Florida and LSU! I take all the above back. He is awesome.

I think Richt's "nice guy" image gets him a lot of points on these lists.

If you don't win the SEC he's not a great coach according to:

Geauxtigers468

Afterall..he'll only have 1 SECC in 5 tries if he doesn't win this year...

I think Les is an excellent coach, fwiw. Funny too.

saban takes the 2 spot over miles imo.

saban-3 10 plus win seasons in the sec,2 sec titles and a nc. also 2-1 in sec title games.

miles- 3 10 win seasons in the sec,1 sec title, 1 nc. 1-1 in sec title games.

they are close but the extra title puts nick of miles for now. if miles gets his 2nd title this year then id say miles is 2nd saban 3rd.

Maybe, but winning 78.8% of your games over an 8 year coaching tenure IN THE SEC is gonna gain you more respect (except on LSU message boards apparently) than being a nice guy.
Here's Div1 teams ranked by winning percentage since Richt came to UGA:

Wining % 2001-2008

Winning = good, not complicated.

Why the love for Spurrier at #3? What has he really accomplished at South Carolina?

i think richt is a great coach and deserves props for his high win percent in the sec. I do have a problem though how he keeps showing up over coaches that have won a nc lately

Heartbreak,

I know that Saban has 1 more SEC title, but he's also been in the league for a few more years than Les.

Also, compare the bowl records and remember Saban's teams always lose to bad out of conference teams.

like i said its close and the extra title makes up for the bowls imo. also they are both 1-0 in the only bowl game that really matters in the end.

Both 1-0 at the only school that matters.

Also, notice that Miles won with alot of Saban's players.
