If Kirby beats Bama (big if) in SECCG and goes 13-0, with the "D" UGA has fielded this year I think it'll be him...

BUT... Heupel, Pittman, Beamer etc are all strong candidates too, all have done an awesome job...

He has done a good job but Florida stopped even attempting to care and Auburn was playing a backup qb yesterday

In case you didn't notice, SC was playing their 3rd string QB...

This was a national ranking in the summer for best coaches in 14 conferences. Below is the ranking of the sec. What is is opinion worth when later viewing results?

R Nick Saban, Alabama (No. 1 overall)
Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M (No. 6)
Kirby Smart, Georgia (No. 7)
Dan Mullen, Florida (No. 10)
Ed Orgeron, LSU (No. 11)
Mark Stoops, Kentucky (No. 22)
Bryan Harsin, Auburn (No. 27)
Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss (No. 30)
Mike Leach, Mississippi State (No. 33)
Eli Drinkwitz, Missouri (No. 43)
Sam Pittman, Arkansas (No. 50)
Josh Heupel, Tennessee (No. 52)
Clark Lea, Vanderbilt (No. 63)
Shane Beamer, South Carolina (No. 65)

Saban slightly down
Jumbo down several notches
Kirby up a couple
Mullen and Orgeron fall off a cliff
Stoops holds steady
Harsin down a few
Kiffin up about 10 notches
Leach about the same as Kiffin
Drinkwitz up just on getting Mizzou in a bowl
Pittman and Heupel both up significantly
Clark Lea? Way down
Beamer up for the same reason as Drinkwitz

Pittboss inherited way more of a mess.

Pittboss took a team a couple sec losses away from breaking the SEC record for most consecutive conference losses along with the hardest conference schedule.

If BAMA beats Georgia it's Saban hands down! If not..well Kirby Smart unless S.C. beats Clemson then it's S. Beamer!

If you are basing it on success, it inis Kirby in a landslide.

But Pittboss has some a hell of a job at Ar-kansas.

Think about this....Pittboss took over for a coach that wanted his oline to average around 270 pounds.....270 pound linemen....in the SEC.

He took a team with 19 consecutive conference losses and in his 2nd year...We have a chance to win 9 games.....that's a helluva job.

As much as I like my guy Kiffin, I think it has to be Pittman.

If he wins against Missouri and a bowl then going from 3-7 to 9-4 is a six game swing. That is the kind of turnaround like what June Jones did at Hawaii. 0-12 to 9-4.

The team Leach inherited beat the team Pittman inherited something like 55-20 the year before.

Should be Saban in a landslide, but it won’t be.

Sam inherited a team that was undersized and short on players. As many as 40 transferred out. Those are self imposed sanctions.

It's going to be Kirby Smart if Georgia beats Bama in two weeks. He is coaching a historically good defense on a team that is not just undefeated, but dominating opponents.

In the last two months there has been one constant in college football - Georgia is the #1 team. If it's still that way after the SECCG, then Kirby is your COY. If not, Pittman is a great choice.

Beamer - taking SC to a bowl with a GA at QB is pretty impressive.

Kirby: especially if he wins the conference
Kiffen: If he pulls out a win next week giving him 10 wins with a depleted roster
Pitt: Turning Arky around
